The Nanny Who would not leave

hah I'd be livid too, partly at myself for getting into that situation in the first place.

I understand people thinking they'd get her out one way or another, legal or not. But, IMO, that would have played into her hands and given her the potential lawsuit and settlement that she may well have been seeking. It still costs time and money (which these people seem to be short on, or else why recruit a non-waged, non-licensed, non-experienced...live-in off of CraigsList?), even if her potential lawsuit wasn't viewed as a strong one.

I don't know the specific laws in Australia and other states, but in California, they're very favorable to the employee and the resident, as opposed to the employer and the landlord. Nanny hadn't broken any laws and had already threatened the homeowners with elder abuse allegations.

So, while I'd be tempted to kick/drive her ass out, whatever it took, would instead deal with the frustration, play it cool, and follow the law so I wouldn't have to be dealing with that BS in court and for a longer duration.

Here's another crappy nanny -

Kristin Marie Jones, 23, pleaded not guilty Friday to several charges after a pedestrian reportedly found a 3-year-old boy and a 2-month-old girl in a minivan parked outside the Sunblaze Tanning salon on a 90 degree day.

Jones is accused of leaving them in there while she was inside. An officer who responded to the call said he found the children sweating and screaming inside the vehicle with the windows up.

Court documents state Jones came out of the salon as the officer pulled the children out of the car, and then took them inside with her. She eventually admitted to leaving them in the van.

"Nightmare Nanny" tells her version of the story...

The Bracamontes say they fired the nanny on June 6 after she stopped working, but 64-year-old nanny Diane Stretton asserted her rights as a tenant and she hasn't left. She has threatened to sue the couple for elder abuse.

Stretton told a different story to radio station KNX 1070. She said she wasn't fired; she quit.

"I quit two days before they fired me. And I gave 30 days of notice, which we had agreed to. Second of all, on the refusal to work, there's only two days, and this was after I'd been there for 90 straight days without a day off, that I didn't work. And those two days I had the flu so bad I was considering calling an ambulance," Stretton said.

The nanny went on to say that the family made her work 24/7, didn't give her lunch or coffee breaks or holidays off and also did not allow her adequate time to use the laundry room or even go to the bathroom.

In a separate interview with KTLA, Stretton claimed the family tried to feed her dog food.

In response to Stretton's interviews, Marc Cohen, the Bracamonte family's attorney, said, "The family is deeply disturbed and absolutely denies all of those statements. It's absolutely not true."

Stretton, who is currently living in her car, has offered to move out of the home under certain conditions, according to CBS Los Angeles.

She reportedly said she wants a few days to move and the media to be gone. If that happens, Stretton said she'll move out by July 4. Cohen said notices will be filed this week forcing Stretton to leave by July 7 and if she doesn't, a lawsuit will be filed.

Sometimes while reading what the nanny has had to say I feel like there might be aspects of her story that are true.

hmmm....I didn't believe a word of it. Maybe if she didn't have 37 other lawsuits under her belt.

It was more of a personality clash thing, little digs. For example, she said the mother stayed on her phone either talking or texting most of the day. I can believe that. I can also imagine a woman with a snotty attitude giving her cans of dog food to eat - just another way for her to say, suck it, bitch. Little things like that seem plausible to me.
