I watched a documentary about Ebert during the last days of his life, and the poor guy was horrifying to look at. Interesting story though.

That mouth thing is a prosthesis, he had no jawbone and it just hung there. The teeth were fake too. My grandpa had his jaw removed and it wasn't pretty. nosir.

They even created a program for him to speak using his own voice. They took his words from hours of video and audio taped movie reviews, cut them up, and put them in a computer. When he typed responses and hit enter, it would be read using his own voice.

Morning all. We ran out of beer again so it was my turn to make the beer run. So I had a little time to stop at my house and pop in here say hello and post a pic. I took this pic this morning just before I left. Just thought it was a cool pic so I wanted to share. This was taken along the banks of the Maquoketa river just miles from State Highway 61 in Iowa.
