IS THIS BULLSHIT OR APPROPRIATE?
#81
If my son was writing stories like that, I would keep him committed a lot longer than 2 weeks. And I wouldn't send him back to that school for fear he would do something. I wouldn't want that on my conscience. Even if he is no danger to anyone and just write creepy stories, the other kids are not going to want to hang with him.

You're scaring me, Ramsey. That's a TOTALLY valid point. Why the hell would the parents want to send their kid back in to that environment? I imagine if he didn't want to actually kill someone before, he would before long. While he might have a core circle of friends that stick with him, he's going to be treated like a freak by many.

Why the hell didn't I think of that first? Dramaqueen

I wouldn't trust that kid to pet sit for me let alone spend 8 hours a day, 5 days a week with a child I loved. He is a middle schooler who wrote extensively about murdering his classmates, he named names and wrote about how they would be killed yet he is being defended by adults who would probably stand there wringing their hands and saying but but but we didn't know he was serious. 78

...and in other news a senior lesbian can't go to her prom because she intends to wear a tux.

Have you come across more on the story Duchess? I haven't been able to find the blog/stories or any more than I posted yesterday.

So far, the only adult I've seen defending the kid is his father. The others adults in the story, at least the ones that I've read about, are the parents of the other students, the school board members, and LE reps.

The other parents are protesting, the school board members are making it clear that their hands are legally tied and it's a police matter, and LE is investigating the kid.

I'd really like to read what the kid wrote and find out who evaluated him, who asked for the evaluation, and what the evaluation determined/concluded.

It's sad that a whole lot of kids are being denied their education because they're afraid to go to school and there's apparently nothing the school can do, at present, to remove the perceived danger.

P.s. refusing to let the girl attend prom if she wears a tux is idiotic.

I'm still looking but I found this. Great...the blog included sexual assault too...?

Texas parents are protesting at Tidwell Middle School after an eighth grade boy was allowed to return to school after writing a blog about killing and sexually assaulting his classmates. The blog, which was titled “Killing Children,” featured stories about the teen boy savagely murdering and sexually assaulting over a dozen other students at the school. However, school officials allowed the boy back in class because his parents maintained it was a work of fiction in the “horror” category. Despite the contention that the story was pure fiction, parents of children at the school want him gone.

What does this kid have to say? I'd like to know if he has friends? Is he in sports? Has he ever had any violent behavior before? Anger issues? What or who is making this kid this way? Or was he just born a sociopath? Psychopath? We won't find the answers to these questions until after he hurts someone.

No, I haven't read more about it.

It is my view that all who were involved in the decision to allow this kid to return to school are in a sense, defending him. Why, in this day & age of school violence/mass shootings/killings would they allow him to return? There are many school districts right now who have a zero tolerance policy in regards to this kind of thing, kids have been expelled for doing nothing more than wearing a provocative t-shirt.

Not that most parents would let this see the light of day but what if these stories had been found written in a journal that was hidden under his mattress? People would gasp and say, oh thank Gawd, we found it in the nick of time.

Legally, it would seem to me that schools are granted leeway in who is allowed on school property. I do not understand the school's stance on this. A personal blog is different than a screen print on a t-shirt or a drawing in a notebook? Those are both things that have resulted in the kid/s not being allowed back to school.

I think it's possible that the kid just enjoys writing horror stories and was stupid and used real names. I still wouldn't want my kid around him especially if they were the one named.

Are his stories even good where you would read it and think this kid is a talented writer?

I can agree with that and chances are it probably is just that.

I don't know why I've been thinking he is 10 yrs. old, I thought that is so young to be writing about sexual assault but I just went back and checked, he's 14.

The link I posted had one snippet from what he wrote. Something about sliding scissors in to somebody. Combine all that with graphic sexual assault prose, there's no way I can believe this kid is anywhere near "normal". There's something fucked up in his head.

I might be overly pessimistic because I only see the stories that make it into the news, I don't know how it really is with kids.

I think this kid needs to be an in patient for awhile; the normal evaluations aren't worth the paper they are written on. If this kid can fantasize these acts, he can carry them out....I wouldn't want my kids in school with him. Think about all the evil, dangerous people who have been "released" from Psych hospitals, prisons, etc. as the doctors, parole boards, etc. say he/she has been rehabilitated and are no longer a threat to themselves or to others. "Johnny has found God, is repentant, and should be released from (fill in blank).
I don't think he is a budding Stephen King......I think he is a wanna be serial killer.....The doctors, in some cases, do prescribe medications, but no one monitors these people to ensure they are taking meds. Of course, the father is there, enabling his kid to get away with yet another "incident."

Adam Lanza was 14 once and was said to be troubled, see what he did when he got a few years older. No serious threats should be/can realistically be ignored whether made by old or young deviants! Stop this kid now!

Get Well Soon

^ Marilyn Zuniga, a teacher in New Jersey, assigned her third-grade class to write "get well" letters to a sick inmate, Mumia Abu-Jamal (^ pictured right). Abu-Jamal was convicted of killing a Philadelphia police officer in 1981 and has always proclaimed his innocence.

Zuniga was suspended today. Superintendent Ronald Lee said in a statement that school administrators "vehemently deny" any knowledge of Marilyn Zuniga's assignment. Preliminary inquiries found that Zuniga did not seek approval from administrators nor were parents notified, Lee said.

The letters were delivered to Mumia Abu-Jamal in prison following his hospitalization last month for what his family said was treatment for complications from diabetes. The former Black Panther is serving life behind His conviction was upheld through years of appeals, but he has gained international support for his claim that he is the victim of a racist justice system.

Zuniga will remain suspended without pay until the investigation is completed, the superintendent said. Additional action could be taken by the school board once the investigation is finished.

If your little kids were in her class and did that assignment would you push to have Zuniga fired, or is it bullshit that she's facing harsh disciplinary action and possible termination?

pff. Jersey is basically a combination of the worst parts of New York and Philly. Those kids should be so lucky as to have someone writing them "get well soon" cards once they get to prison. Besides, she has a union, and if they support her then she'll get all the cash money she wants.

I wouldn't care if she personally wrote to him but she's an idiot for having little kids write to a convicted cop killer. There are some seriously outraged people up there, not just parents but community leaders and all of law enforcement. If that women isn't smart enough to know better, she probably shouldn't be teaching.

I'd have a problem with the teacher's union defending someone who had children write to a convicted murderer.
