Sounds nice. It's not just the smell after you bake something like that, it's the vibe that permeates the whole house, like this is home. This is what home feels like.

I think cooking sweet things is probably more lovely, but I love the vibe on a winters day cooking a soup slowly, then having it with crusty bread and butter.

I have 2 sweet pototos
2 small zuchini
4 large carrots

and lots of garbonzo beans

I do.
But I am not a skilled soup maker. So I usually end up having something pre-made.

I do have some nice recipes that I follow and I like to make bisques. I feel like soups in general take time to make.

I too enjoy pre-made soups and bisques. New Clam Chowder, Broccoli and Cheddar cheese, Lobster and pumpkin bisques.
