I think that all media is full of shit, every single one. Fox, NBC, PBS, MSNBC, CNN all have agendas and directives. If they all had the same agenda there would only be one. All only report on the issues that affect sales and all are businesses that need to generate money. I don't consider FOX or PBS to be the worst. Today unless you watched something happen and how it went down with your own two eyes its hard to believe a reporter with a gleam in their eye for sensationalism and the "scoop" its been going on longer than any of us have been alive.

When people think about the 60's they think Woodstock, hippies, drugs but if you were to read a paper from 1968 those things were not what the people of that era were concerned about. Today that's all anyone can think of. Todays news is the same as yesterdays.

Someone has already said it, but the little girls in Texas had their lemon stand closed because they (seriously) needed a license to sell "food" items.
Yet, in the same newspaper, the politicians are gloating over signing new law to enable citizens to carry without background check and permit.

The open carry law just passed in Texas does not allow ANYONE - that means not one person - to carry a handgun openly without background checks or permit. NO ONE. What you just claimed is absolutely untrue, and has no basis in fact. It comes from someone with an anti-gun mentality who could not even do the most basic of research before regurgitating what they had read somewhere.

In Texas, the ONLY people who will be allowed to open carry their handguns are those who already have or go through the process to obtain their concealed carry permit. That means they have to be 21 years of age, have no criminal or mental health history, must submit to a background check, be fingerprinted, are required to go though a training class, and must test with their firearm and pass.

Honestly BBH, you could have googled that in about 2.5 seconds. Instead you undermine your credibility and just spout off your bias.

Calm down, Mr. Bone, you will have a stroke....My post was misleading and I apologize.....when i said Texas was allowing carry laws without permit, what I should have specified is open and concealed carry. I am definitely clueless about gun laws, but I have signed petitions, e.g., mothers against gun violence, etc. and I read bits and pieces of the newsletters and failed to specify open and/or concealed carry. Dumb me just said "carry" laws.
I was looking at Kansas gun law (because I plan on moving back there soon) and was appalled at Governor Brownback's actions which will enable (1 Jul 15) to open carry without permit, training, or background check, saying that Federal regulations would still be in effect. Permits, training, and background checks for concealed weapons will be voluntary.

O.K. when I read about Texas "relaxed" gun laws, I read that Texas Senate were debating whether to allow open or concealed carry (not sure which) on public college campuses for faculty, students over 21...I did get upset over that and conveyed that poorly in my post and I do apologize to you. I left out some pertinent facts and couldn't find the original article I had read.
I stand by my belief that some of these politicians are brain dead re gun legislation. In my research, I found a map of the U.S. with color coded gun laws....very helpful to me, and of course, I couldn't transfer map to Mock.

Sometimes, in these States which allow open/concealed weapons, they don't require further training, updated background checks, or a special permit for this. I did read, however, that the guns must be unloaded. O.K. that doesn't make sense to me....I just don't understand why everyone can't agree that we need more in-depth checks on people who are allowed to carry openly or concealed weapons, especially.

And the chances are that even if she had of had easy access to a weapon and had procured one that she would have still been killed in her front yard. Unless she was wearing it, had it loaded, and was ready, and capable, to react in an instant, every instant.

The same could be said for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. In that instance yes it's worthless but most of those are gang related I aint no Gangsta.
