EGYPT
The militants who carried out an attack during Friday prayers at a mosque in Egypt's Sinai peninsula were carrying ISIS flags, the country's chief prosecutor, Nabil Sadeq, said Saturday.
Sadeq also said that the death toll has risen to 305 worshipers, including 27 children -- a dramatic increase from the previously announced 235 fatalities. RIP. Another 128 were injured.
The attack was carried out by 25-30 militants who arrived at the mosque in five all-terrain vehicles, Sadeq said. They also torched seven cars belonging to the worshipers that were parked outside, he added.
Muslim worshipers told Sadeq's office that some of the attackers wore masks, but all wore military-like uniforms.
Emblazoned on the ISIS flags was the phrase, "There is no god but God. Muhammad is the messenger of God," according to survivors of the attack.

I can only hope that Muslims can confront these attacks on their own grounds and shun this ideological branch of Islam. In all truth only they can bring their religion together again. Not outsiders.

How so?
ISIS's enemy is all infidels..............which means everyone who isn't part of ISIS and refuses to join the murderous cult and adopt its ideology.
That includes all the peaceful Christians, Muslims, Daoists, Buddhists, Jews, Hindus, Atheists, Satanists, Deists and everyone else.
The one common enemy (aside from ISIS and similar Islamic terrorists) that everyone else should acknowledge is the Saudis -- they cultivated, exported and funded that radical extremist ideology across the Middle East for several decades.

If they were only fighting among themselves they would implode. Not distracted or resources drained by Christians, Daoists, Buddhists, Jews, Hindus, Atheists, Satanists, Deists and liberal fucking frisco hippies.

Ouch, that's a real burn there Biggie. :
Your first point made no sense to me and neither did your second one. The ad hominem bullshit is transparent though.
I'd ask you to explain again and try to continue the topical discussion, but that seems beyond your ability or willingness, and I'm afraid you might call me a.............. no-good god-damned San Fran wo-man...... or something equally gutting.

I don't care if Biggie calls me a liberal fucking San Francisco hippie, though that characterization would be more understandable coming from a paranoid right-wing extremist living in the Boondocks or something. It just had nothing to do with the topic at hand.
Muslims from many nations are fighting and dying en mass in attempt to eradicate ISIS and the Sunni fundamentalist violence they unleash on those who don't share their views.
The victims of the Egyptian mosque massacre were all Muslim. They practiced Sufism, which is a strand of Islam that eschews materialism, emphasizes the inward search for God, and includes the worship of saints.
Sufi adherents are responsible for some of Islam's most famous and beloved literature, including the poems of Rumi. Followers promote values such as tolerance and pluralism, that makes them a target of ISIS which considers Sufis to be heretics and idolators.

I know you don't, I was just curious.
I've been called that before too and Liberal is always said with a sneer and sometimes used almost as a cuss word. I suppose it doesn't much matter in the scheme of things. I'd rather grow a beard & horns than be associated with the Republican party. In general they are a revolting group of hypocrites.

Maybe Biggie will explain what he means to you.
In my experience, "Fucking Liberal!" is one of those labels that often gets applied loosely and inaccurately by people who insist that their conservative views are true and don't want to hear/discuss other people's views or the facts. It seems like it's surpassed "Fucking Racist!" in that regard.
When used accurately, "liberal' essentially means tolerant and not resistant to change by default. I'm liberal in a lot of ways, but I'm not "a liberal" in terms of how it's tossed around by people who aren't liberal at all.
Usually, I see/hear the label tossed out when conservatives think someone wants to take all their guns, or they're convinced that advocating for equal rights means that THEIR rights are under threat........that kind of shit.

I was wondering why these particular Muslims were targeted.
Thanks for enlightening us about the Sufi’s.
It figures, the sect of Islam that promotes tolerance and, I’m assuming, education and free thinking, is a target of these vile, evil pieces of shit.
I’m still trying to understand how these spawn of Satan can believe that murdering innocents is somehow condoned by their God.
The Egyptian military has very good equipment/firepower.
I hope they’re able to destroy these cowards.

The vast majority of those killed by radical Islamic extremists are Muslim. ISIS (Sunni) has no problem whatsoever attacking Shiite Muslim populations and the Sunnis who don't support jihad (like the Sufis).
But, the Islamic terrorist groups have killed a lot of non-Muslims from many different countries and religious affiliations also.
Al Qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram........all radical Sunni Muslim groups influenced by the Wahabbi movement cultivated by Saudi clerics and exported to other ME countries.
There are Shia groups classified as terrorists groups too (like Hezbollah in Iran and the Houthis in Yemen).
Egypt under Sisi appears to be aggressive in attempting to fight off radical Sunni groups infiltrating the country. I hope the Egyptian government succeeds in fending them off too.
The mosque attack was horrible. 300+ peaceful worshippers slaughtered in minutes; the entire population of the village was only about 800 before the mass murder. :(

I hope this alliance succeeds if the goal is really to eradicate radical extremism rather than to formally align all the majority Sunni countries (80% of the Middle East) against the majority Shiite countries (Iran, Iraq, Bahrain) and further restrict religious freedom.
^ Top defense officials from 40 Muslim-majority nation’s met in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Sunday. They are part of an alliance gathered together two years ago by Prince Mohammed, who is also Saudi defense minister.
The crown prince has said he would encourage a more moderate and tolerant version of Islam in the ultra-conservative kingdom. The group of Muslim nations, called the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition, has yet to take any decisive action.
Prince Mohamed told delegates that Friday’s attack in Egypt “was a very painful occurrence and must make us contemplate in an international and powerful way the role of this terrorism and extremism”.
Officials say the group would allow members to request or offer assistance to each other to fight militants. This could include military help, financial aid, equipment or security expertise. The group, which will have a permanent base in Riyadh, would also help combat terrorist financing and ideology.
“The biggest threat from terrorism and extremism is not only killing innocent people and spreading hate, but tarnishing the reputation of our religion and distorting our belief,” he said.

Iraq and Syria, at the forefront of the battle against Islamic State, are not members, nor is mainly Shi‘ite Muslim Iran, the regional rival to mostly Sunni Saudi Arabia.
Qatar, originally part of the alliance, was not invited to Sunday’s meeting after Riyadh led a group of states seeking to isolate Doha, saying it supported terrorism. Doha denies this.
Abdulelah al-Saleh, a Saudi lieutenant general and the coalition’s secretary general, said Qatar was excluded to help build a consensus for launching operations. He also said the group was not aimed at creating a Sunni bloc to counter Iran.
“The enemy is terrorism. It’s not sects or religions or races, its terrorism,” Saleh told reporters.

ISIS still hasn't claimed responsibility for the Egyptian mosque massacre. ISIS is believed to be responsible because survivors reportedly told authorities the assailants displayed black ISIS flags.
Snip:
Egyptian authorities announced that security forces have killed at least 14 Islamic militants in Sinai and an adjacent Suez Canal province following the massacre that killed 305 people.
The Interior Ministry said on Tuesday that 11 of the suspected militants were killed in a shootout on a farm in Ismailia province. It says six suspects were arrested there. Military spokesman Col. Tamer el-Rifai says three more suspected militants were killed in central Sinai.
