I feel so strongly about a lot of this bullshit that if I saw anyone associated with maga in distress I would turn and go in the opposite direction. I wouldn't lift a finger to help. There was a time I wouldn't have dared give voice to that, but I no longer care. It's never been my nature to be so uncaring, until now, until trump and those who support & defend him. I felt terrible about feeling this way until a psychologist said it was a natural reaction to what we all were seeing & hearing and it would have been more abnormal to not give any of that another thought.

I would still help people.

Even if I knew they would turn me in. Do I think I am capable of turning away in the moment? Sure. I'm not going to judge myself.

I can't function where I live without interacting with people of different political beliefs. 

I try not to think of these hypothetical situations tho-becuase that isn't productive in my brain.

I can't handle that people are suffering in a prison, I can't handle that people are suffering in a prison who didn't do a crime and who didn't get due process and the fucking president of the United States ACTs like he doesn't know what DUE PROCESS is. Yes, I believe it is an act when he acts stupid. Both are wrong, being stupid and acting stupid as the president is fucking wrong.
He is a dangerous man and the people that work for him and support him are too.

I just saw a little bit of the conversation about helping or not helping MAGA people and I have a very personal relate in that regard. My gather was a well known bastard of the narcissistic liar type and did our family dirty a lot of times in a lot of ways. But when he needed help or would die, I went and helped him. A close friend asked me why I helped such a bastard and my response was simple. I didn't help him be ause he was any kind of better person. I helped him because I wanted to be one.

There are definitely things I won't do as a woman, but that seems obvious. I grew up in an era where the green river killer would stalk college campuses, and he was dressed in a suit.
My uncle picked up who he thought was a student, my uncle was a teacher-and this guy pulled out a gun and had him drive all the way from Ellensburg to Portland. (Our family rumor has always been it might have been DB Cooper)

Unfortunately people have to be careful, but this is not what Ducess is talking about. If we are all honest with ourselves I am sure there are times we have looked away or avoided helping someone in need.
