That's what the Governor of Utah says. He goes on to say it creates a sexually toxic environment and treats women as objects & commodities. Do you agree?
There is no right or wrong answer as it's your opinion only.
I think, in general, women do porn because they want to and it's not for others to say they are demeaning themselves or make it sound as if they have been coerced and they bear no responsibility. That's just my opinion.

It sorta bugs me when people say those women are being exploited. It irritates me much in the same way it does when I see women who choose to have an abortion be called a victim.

I saw it to mean any woman in genaral, not just those that do porn. The consumer of porn could view all women as commodity and objects. That would be my interpretation.
Also he said he did not want to ban porn, but to protect the children. I don't see how that could be bad.

My thoughts on porn, some couples use it as foreplay and I don't much care nor is it any of my business what people do in their bedrooms. There will always be a demand for porn, so therefore, there will always be a market, but to have the Governor prohibit all porn is a form of censorship..how do you control something that is accessible on the internet?
My big problem with porn is we have a lot of perverts who walk among us, and child porn is a big business in this World.. Young children are being victimized every day because of the high demand for child porn....This is already illegal, but so prevalent.......
I also feel bad for those who become addicted to porn....but people become addicted to a variety of things because they have addictive personalities....we can't outlaw everything because of the separate issue of addiction.......I should have read the full story and not just the headline....I would agree with anything that protects children.....the headline I read made it sound like he was banning all porn......I am beginning to not trust the news media...haha

I looked up the article and that is the way I understood it too. I don't think he meant that the adult entertainers who choose to do that for a living are being exploited, that would be ridiculous.
He was talking about the consumers and how they could get a distorted image of woman and treat them as objects to be abused. I don't agree with that either, however. I don't think porn causes men to abuse women anymore than I think Ozzy Osbourne lyrics causes people to become devil worshipers or violent video games causes kids to become serial killers. If you are any of those things you'd still be that way with or without it. You're not a normal, rational person to begin with.
The bill did address child pornography which should be the biggest priority.

Yes.
Of course the media wants to put a different spin on it.
He is not prohibiting all porn either as blueberryhill stated.

He's not entirely wrong. The environment and hostility created around the industry is toxic to the women involved, and utterly dehumanizing no matter how empowering they'd like it to be when starting out. I say this as a person who has watched a number of family members be a part of that world with varying degrees of success and personal ruin. It's not a blameless or helpless situation, but it is most certainly degrading and coercive on many levels, and it kills the soul of the people involved. If I were inclined to do so I would draw parallels to other forms of mental addiction, such as gambling or compulsive behaviors.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.
