COLIN POWELL EMAIL HACKS
#1
This hacking bullshit is out of control, and I'm not talking about coughing.

A couple of months back the DNC records were hacked and leaked. The US government suspects Russian hackers. Julian Assange says WikiLeaks will be releasing more of those emails as the election gets closer.

This week, the medical records of some American athletes were hacked and leaked. The Russians deny it, but it's again believed that they are behind the hacking in retaliation for Russian athletes being banned from Olympic competition due to doping.

And, yesterday, some of Colin Powell's hacked emails were released. He has confirmed that the emails are authentic and that "they have more". The Russians are again accused of being behind the hacks.

Below are some of the more interesting emails released thus far from Powell's account.

Powell on Trump

-Donald Trump's birther movement is racist. "That's what the 99% believe. When Trump couldn't keep that up he said he also wanted to see if the certificate noted that he was a Muslim."

-"For him (Trump) to say yesterday that within four years he would have 95% of blacks voting for him is schizo fantasy and (former Fox News chief Roger) Ailes as an adviser won't heal with women."

-"Trump is a national disgrace and an international pariah. He appeals to the worst angels of the GOP nature and poor white folks."

-"You guys (media) are playing his (Trump's) game, you are his oxygen."

Powell on Hillary Clinton & Emails

-"Everything HRC touches she kind of screws up with hubris."

-"(Clinton) didn't need any advice or ok from me; she was already doing it. I gave her written guidance on why and how I had been doing it."

-"The only thing I would add is to simply say she had a private account on a public server before becoming SecState and continued to use it when she became SecState. On the other hand this might to lead to questions about the basement."

- Clinton "could have killed this two years ago by merely telling everyone honestly what she had done and not tie me into it. I told her staff three times not to try that gambit."

Powell and Condi Rice on Iraq

[Image: 160204163454-colin-powell-condoleezza-ri...ge-169.jpg]

An exchange in 2015 showed Powell and his successor, former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice, critiquing some of their former colleagues in the Bush administration.

Rice forwarded a link to story about Bob Woodward slamming former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's recent commentary on the Iraq War.

Rice praised Woodward and added: "First, we didn't invade Iraq to bring democracy -but once we overthrew Saddam (Hussein), we had a view of what should follow. If Don (Rumsfeld) and the Pentagon had done their job ... things might have turned out differently."

Powell criticized "Doug and Paul," presumably Douglas J. Feith and Paul Wolfowitz, for their plan on Iraq and praised his former boss, President George W. Bush.
"43 (Bush, the 43rd president) knew what had to be done," Powell wrote to Rice. "As you say, the boys in the band were brain dead."

Oh dear. "brain dead"

I've always like Colin Powell. I've wondered in the past if his association with the Bush administration had hurt his reputation.

I don't believe that has ever been a problem. But having anything to do with Clinton is like getting an STD. She certainly drives the hit bus quite a bit. He should have stayed far away from her, now he's tarnished.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

And she won't hesitate to throw someone under it either.

He isn't tarnished. In fact, if he plays his cards right he could come out of this smelling like a rose. His hacked private emails reflect both a blunt honesty and mistrust of sneaky politician stuff by both sides. Colin Powell could pull a hell of a lot of moderate conservative power if he wanted to. He's got pedigree.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.
