The President of the United States talking about a private business.

Weird that Sarah Slanders would take her family to such a filthy restaurant. 78

^ Such a petty and hypocritical statement from our President, yet again.

Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort restaurant was hit with 15 health code violations coming from its two main kitchens at the end of 2017. Among the violations were milk stored at 49 degrees and hot dogs placed on the ground of a walk-in freezer.

Earlier in 2017, those same kitchens were found to have sushi that wasn’t treated for parasites, along with other foods stored in broken-down freezers. The report found four basic violations, three intermediate violations and three high-priority violations.

Even if the Red Hen is 'dirty' externally, I'd rather eat somewhere like that than at a fancy-looking restaurant that violates cleanliness and health codes in their food handling processes.

It's a charming, tiny little restaurant. Brick, like almost everything around here. I think the owner has more balls than the entire GOP altogether.

The Red Hen looks clean and charming to me, and they passed their inspections with zero health code violations. Nice menu too. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_R...ginia.html

That tweet was just another spewing of juvenile bullshit by the President of the United States, maybe because he just can't help himself or possibly in attempt to distract from his ongoing immigration clusterfuck.

Anyway, I read the Red Hen manager's statement. The manager didn't cause a scene. She responded to her employees' requests not to serve someone (Sanders) who defends separating children from their parents and strongly supports business owners'/managers' choice to refuse service to gays (with legal protection from the government if the business owner or manager claims his/her discrimination is religious-based).

Trump and his staff bitching about the Red Hen and chiding anyone about civility and showing respect to others is hilarious in its level of hypocrisy. They, including Sarah Sanders, insult and deride individuals and groups of people all the time - something no administration before has done. So, they can cry me a river.

My only issues with Maxine Waters' speech yesterday was that she was taking the bait and encouraging the public to sink to the same level as Trump and his spokespeople.

Stories of the owner following the victim are coming out saying she was heckled and screamed at from the sidewalk at another restaurant by the owner and her entourage. Mrs Sanders had to flee that establishment also. It all seems a bit out there but the full story will come out. Who are the disheveled, psychotic, violent ones in all this? It looks like Mrs. Sanders went high when the aggressors went low on this one. By the response she wrote at least it seems.

Mike Huckabee is not a credible source. Not ever. Nor is FOX news. Your post is a lie. The restaurant owner has more class than the entire trump administration all together.

I cheer the people who heckle this administration. I clap like a seal and want more. It's a good day when the dregs of society are confronted in that fashion. You reap what you sow and I can't think of any group of people who are more deserving of being shunned than all of those people. The president that you support incites violence on an almost daily basis, he does it through his twitter account and he does it at his ridiculous campaign rallies, he did it yesterday. They all deserve public shaming. Every last one of them.

Well then I guess you believe this is OK also.

I do not like the way this is going from either side myself and is stepping into dangerous ground.
It looks like Acosta has been "accosting" the right for a bit. I don't care in a political forum though either way, and that's where it should stay. Sanders is just a mouthpiece for the administration and the left is just shooting the messenger.

I've been seeing the press hassled since trump came down the escalator. He refers to them as the enemy of the people, some have had to be escorted to their vehicles by the Secret Service. He's going to get someone killed. I am horrified by this president everyday. He's not smart, he's not a deal maker, he does nothing to try and bring our country together. He's president to the minority and he makes that very clear.

Sarah Slanders is way more than a mouth piece, she stands before the American people and willingly lies to them every single time she has a press briefing, she is one of the faces of the presidency, she's supposed to be working for the American people but she doesn't.

I watched the video you posted, that rally was last night. I'm not sure what you mean about Acosta accosting the Right. I saw him tolerating the name calling and abuse that they all tolerate and then he went on to give a filthy old fascist his seat when she needed to sit down.

It's horrible what is going on in our country right now and I think it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better. I don't support this president's policies/agenda. I think he is the worst American of my lifetime.

I've seen you say something similar before. This isn't verbatim but you said something to the effect of, "we all get along so well, why do we have to talk about politics and ruin it".

I was thinking about this as I was cutting grass. Some sites don't allow talk of religion or politics, I suppose that's to keep the peace. I've always felt that our Members are more resilient than that. Do you disagree? It's okay if you do.

I love all the political discussion. Between work and socializing I don't always have time to catch up on what is happening daily in the political world.

I do too but I don't like having to worry about about feelings getting hurt or people getting angry, so many of my comments are made to strangers in other places who I don't give a fuck about. In all of politics my biggest complaint is the hypocrisy, it's rampant, the same rules do not apply to all and I think that's incredibly fucked up and now there is fascism, which I had only ever seen in books before today.
