ENJOY, if you're in here!
Gorgeous rides. I love the red and black Montclair.
Near the end of the photos there are two cars side by side in the showroom. One is blue and the other is yellow. They look kind of ominous and full of blind spots, but I like them. What model are they?

What model are they? "Chopped" Mercury's. One looks more like lavender to me, then blue if those are the two you're referring to. And yes, all gorgeous, I would love to have any one of them. Actually, I did have a few of those beauties similar to the ones shown, back in the day when I was really into cars.

This was in the news yesterday, Carsman.
The original Batmobile from the 60s tv series is up for auction. It's pretty cool, imo. I didn't recognize the base care before I read the history yesterday; not sure that I've ever seen one on the road.
Do you recognize the make/model/year?
P.s. One of the James Bond cars auctioned for over 4 million; curious to see what the Batmobile ends up going for.

Is the Batmobile a Dodge? It looks sorta old Charger-like.

Nope, its a ford.

In 1955, the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company designed and built a futuristic concept car called the Lincoln Futura. It was built entirely by hand in Turin, Italy at a cost of $250,000, and like many concept cars, was never put in to production. In the mid 1960's, George Barris of Barris Kustom City acquired the car for $1 directly from Ford.
Fast forward to August 1965, the Batman TV show producers approached George to have him build a new Batmobile for their upcoming show. The only catch was the car had to be ready for action in a mere three weeks. Seeing the bat-like qualities his Futura already had, George knew it was the perfect answer to the quandary 20 th Century Fox had created.
In October of 1965, the Batmobile was completed and delivered to Fox where it made its television debut on January 12, 1966.
The car was such a huge success that George Barris and the producers of Batman decided to build copies of the Batmobile in late 1966. Barris and his crew pulled a mold from the #1 Batmobile and created 3 fiberglass copies. These replicas were displayed at car shows and dragstrips and also made appearances where countless fans could see them.
Over 45 years later the 1966 TV Batmobile is still one of the most iconic and popular cars in the world.

Thanks Six, the piece I read didn't note that the Futura never went into production. That obviously explains why I've never seen one on the road.
So, the Batmobile will be sold at Barrett-Jackson auction in January 2013.
It is powered by a 1956 Lincoln 390-cubic-inch V-8 and B&M Hydro automatic transmission. Among its many Bat-gadgets are a Bat Ray Projector, Batscope, Batphone and two 10-foot Deist parachutes to assist in 180-degree “bat-turns.”
“There are only a few things in life able to capture the soul of an era and the Batmobile did exactly that,” noted Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson.
