I did. They look like just the ones here. I expected to see a monster toad, somewhat along the lines of your huntsman spiders. Goddamn, Aussie, those things are the stuff nightmares are made of. My skin crawls simply recalling the pix of them I saw. UghUghUgh.

Those were put in Australia for some reason and became an invasive species.

Tell me about it!! I hate that stuff nothing kills it. But last year someone here told me to cut it down in April and it won't come back so bad, it actually worked better than the other stuff i was doing with muriatic acid.

I didn't know there were different types. I thought bamboo was just bamboo.
Maybe I'll name my next pet Bamboo.

I got a giant panda at Disney back when I used to fly and they let me bring it right on the plane. The flight attendants were fine with it and none of the passengers complained. Matter of fact a couple of them said they shouldn't have left theirs behind when they saw mine. My parents insisted I was never going to get away with doing that.

I read that anything that eats the toad, dies. Also, that many of the birds there have learned to attack and kill them in such a way they don't encounter the poison sack.

AND they make his horrible croaking noise, it's not like a cute frog, it's loud and horrible. Yep, so I grew up in Queensland and know the scene well, but there is none of that here in Tasmania. However, nepotism and corruption is rife.
They consider you an outsider unless you grew up here. It's horrible career wise. The population of the whole island is around 450,000. In my area of health everyone knows everyone. Some of them locals here are called inbreds and with good reason too.
It has astounded me how underqualified some people who are in certain positions. They have treated my qualifications with contempt and are threatened. They are usually put in positions of power by family or family connections. It has impacted the public health system which is at 3rd world standards......the private health system is not much better. If you get sick in Tasmania, God help you.
