They've been doing that to me so I don't go to the stupid game or give them a donation. I figure I'll catch up with a speeding ticket or something. I do give to the Union Leaders Santa thing every year though its tax deductible.

I tried to tell the police association people that. They alway send me tickets to some stupid basketball game, then tell me I have to make a donation for the tickets. I hate the fuckin police association.
Well I think my mom donated in my name or something because I never donated to Boys Town and yet they keep sending me address labels and calendars every year in exchange for a donation. I haven't given them even a penny. Free stuff! (Yeah I know, I'm going to Hell)
If the police asses send the tickets before you give the donation, I'd use the free tickets and not give them anything.

So I put a fin in his bucket, and he smiled then said "God Bless You.
I put a buck in the kettle every time I see one. It always makes them smile. I'm a little perplexed this year tho, all the bell ringers disappeared the day before Thanksgiving. Usually they're out there from Mid November until Dec 24th.
My good deed for today was not killing my dog when he brought one of his poosicles in from outside.
The kettles are everywhere in my neck of the woods. I guess most people donate change. I gave two dollars to the one at the tree lighting last night and had to cram it in there because the opening in the kettle was too small.

I haven't seen a single bell ringer this season. What's up with that?

Normally they have a big deal about a gold coin being put in the kettle every year.

No, not at all but I'm not someone who goes to malls or department stores where that kind of thing is typically seen. In the past I have seen them outside of grocery stores but not yet this year.

Maybe they couldn't get enough volunteers? I still see ads trying to recruit bell ringers.

The SA around here used to pay people $8.00 an hour to ring the bell. That could be why I haven't seen any since Thanksgiving, though. It probably wasn't cost effective for them anymore
