Well.........relatively speaking, I mean. I was afraid to even mention F.U. That paranoid bi-sexual sex-fiend would probably threaten to have his old ladies kick my ass again; I've grown tired of disguising myself and constantly looking over my shoulder whenever I go to biker orgies.

I am inspired to re-read a "Brief history of time" because of HOTD and that may take a running start but I just got done stretching my legs and I feel it's the right thing to do. I need some mind expanding mind fuck or something for some reason that I can only guess at today and probably tomorrow. It may be easier to learn how to use all these gadgets on my telescope but I prefer to take the road less taken and just read the friggin book again. Besides, Hawkins is dead and I believe he was more crazy than a bedbug in a frypan. I think. But who really knows? I bet HOTD knows, that sly fox.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

You guys need to read no country for old men, it's better than the movie as is usually the case.

I never really get why you consider me a 'sly fox'..........not sure whether it's a compliment, an insult, or a combination platter. But, it does make me smile regardless. Hawking was brilliant. I appreciated his contributions to science, his unrelenting worth ethic, and his sense of humor......all while suffering from a seriously debilitating disease for 50+ years. I don't think he was more crazy than a bedbug in a frying pan, but do believe that almost all humans have a bit of crazy lurking under the skin and he was likely no exception. Enjoy the re-read Mags. Since you don't believe the scientific theories/evidence behind the creation of the universe and instead believe the Christian stories no matter what, it won't likely change your perspective. But, it's always interesting to entertain opposing views. Maybe I'll re-read the Bible (or at least the Cliff Notes) -- it's a good story.

What makes you think that I believe the Christian story of the beginning of the universe? Maybe I believe that that was the best explanation for that time period and in today's time and advancements that things are still a great mystery and although we have advanced tremendously we are still in the infant stage of true knowledge. Hmmmm huh Miss Know it all.

Hmmmm huh Miss Know it all. Jesus, Mags. I'm not presuming to know your mind and wasn't picking a fight. I was just reiterating what you've said yourself. You said that you believe the part about Jesus being everywhere and that nothing will ever change your mind. You've said that you believe creationism should be taught in schools. You've said that atheists are immoral many times. If you're NOW saying that you agree with Hawking's contention that religion was simply a means by which to help ignorant mankind understand the universe before scientific research provided mankind with a more accurate understanding (or that you don't have unfettered faith that God created the universe)............I apologize for having misunderstood you or not knowing about your change of mind. |
