Crickets

They are also loud here. I love falling asleep to them at night. Just now I heard a new bird sound and I almost looked for a remote to see how to turn the crickets down so I could hear the bird.
ohmygosh

And then the crickets stopped for a moment! I don't know what kind of bird I am hearing.
And now the crickets are chirping again.

Sorry I keep making threads about all these new sights and smells and sounds I am experiencing. I think I lived in one place for too long and have never had these experiences of this kind of climate.

I don't hear crickets when I fall asleep but I do hear a symphony of peepers.

Years ago living in the city drove me nuts, cars, loud music, arguments now its just woodpeckers, crickets frogs and some lady up the street singing her little heart out on the back porch. She's pretty good so it doesn't bother me.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

All the time. My son found a leopard gecko and of course brought it home for me to take care of it and it will only eat live crickets. So I have to buy the crickets at the pet store and sometimes they escape out of the terrarium and chirp all night. I've gotten used to it.

I love the sound of baby birds going to sleep, chirping in their nest.

Try seeing the crickets covered in chocolate and eating them. Weird and delicious.

I just bought the teenager here a leopard gecko for thirty bucks and I bitched the whole time telling her Florida was lousy with the things. Then I hadda buy all the stupid terrarium stuff too.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

My son found it under the chair at my husband's office. I don't know where the hell it came from, but I doubt it traveled all the way from it's native land in Asia. Anyway, they're pretty boring pets, it spends most of its time inside a rock. She's kind of cute though because it always looks like she's smiling. I know it's a girl because she lays eggs.
