John was OK he was a POW and deserved his accolades. He went through a ton of hardship and should be appreciated for his service. As time went on he became part of the Washington dignitary's and spent his time doing what Washington dignitaries do. Sucking up time and expenses.

Who can blame him, it's what happens there. Perhaps he should have spent more time being a regular citizen instead of a becoming a politician. He sucked at that.
