ARE YOU LONELY?
#1
I read a report that stated that loneliness will shorten your life much in the same way smoking & drinking can and by some measures it's worse than being obese. I spend a great deal of time alone and I've never felt lonely, I don't ever mind being alone. Do you get lonely? I don't want you to die.

No it's kind of hard to be lonely when you have a husband and kids that constantly bug you.

No, I'm a recluse now, or a curmudgeon; either way, never lonely.

I have friends.
But I can still feel lonely.
Recent move and small town and my closest friends are a distance away.

I like being alone. Send me somewhere, where I know no one and to chill out and I am happy

Wasn't sitting the next big thing that would kill you? We live in a morbid society.

Yeah. I heard it said that sitting was the new smoking. I'm unsure why that's a new thing given we all know that a sedentary lifestyle will put a hurtin' on you.

You should probably go with curmudgeon, it may imply you have some charm.

Quite a few athletes die young, they abuse their bodies for years with constant wear and then poof they're gone. A person that just goofs off keeps their weight at a normal level lives quite a while.

Some people create their own loneliness, they don't want to talk to anyone and would rather play solitaire. You cannot force them to be outgoing.

I think there might be a lot of people who are lonely who don't want to be but they don't really know how to go about rectifying that. Those who are painfully shy have an awful time trying to connect with others. I feel sorry for those people.

I used to be "those people". Don't be sorry, just don't give up on us. Even when I first started getting away from my computer and socialize more, I backslid and missed out on a great Labor Day party because I wanted to catch up on stuff on my computer.  To my credit I did survive through two other parties before that.

This is true.
