I haven't had it for a long time. My husband liked it and I grew to like it. I even served it one easter. But seriously couldn't see myself buying or cooking one now.
To feel perfectly ethical about it all I would have to go vegetarian, and I haven't done that. Or if I want to keep eating meat I should at least eat meat that was ethically treated before it died. I don't check all the meat that I buy, but I do check some of it, and I'm not buying a lot of meat these days anyway.

I could do without eating meat, but not seafood or eggs.

I'm having seafood for Christmas, same as I do every year. I will not be partaking of the crab though, undertaker of the sea. Yuk. I like the shrimps & clams. NomNomNom.

Son, take those 2 lambs right there and slit their throats behind the barn don't mess up the meat. Then hang them upside down to bleed out...........Thanks.

Another thing I hate, salmon. I like it raw in sashimi or sushi, but I don't like it cooked. To me it tastes pure and clean when its raw, and fishy and oily when its cooked.

You know who else likes raw salmon? Grizzlies in some ice cold stream. Maybe in a State that's known for it's beer consumption, more than the majority of the population that has the ability to tye their shoes in the dark.

I'll be with family on the day. Just me and my brother Ed. Oldest brother got invited to dinner elsewhere so he's not hosting Christmas dinner like usual. I don't know what I'm doing either for Christmas Day. I'm probably hanging with friends on Christmas Eve.

Do you have any interest in cooking Christmas dinner, Clang? It doesn't have to be a big, overwhelming production. Many supermarkets sell the complete dinner for $50-60. They will pack it altogether for you. You get the main course, sides and dessert.

I grew up seeing deer hanging like that in people's yards. I never thought anything of it, it's just the way it is in the North Country.

I might try and cook the pork chops and/or spicy sausages I've had in the freezer for months. I have some frozen veggies and some fancy rice sides too. Maybe make some Kraft Mac and Cheese. With or without Ed's help.
