About 20 years ago I bought 2 pallets of stone for a walkway for around $100 each. Today I began looking at more stone and a pallet now costs $819. Are you fucking kiddin' me.

The more that you want to save the environment,  the more costly natural materials are going to be.

It's all kinda relative, consider what your salary was back then.

I just got done fixing a section of fence that blew down in the last windstorm, I should have grabbed my kid to come help me because I had a hell of a time holding the fence up and screwing it back on the post. The ground is frozen so the post had no give at all. I'm freakin exhausted it was 12 hr of fighting. This Spring I'm putting one of those vinyl fences up and looking into it I want to use that concrete that you pour it in dry and get it wet then it sets. Has anyone else used that stuff? It would sure make it easier.

My husband said you pour a concrete footer for each post, no dry pour. You won't know how strong the dry pour is going to be and there is no integrity  next heavy storm and it will go down. So he advises against dry pour no matter how much easier it seems. With that said, he's a a general contractor and the day after he put our new mailbox up it fell over and our mail flew all over the street.

Animals are better than many people when it comes to relationships. Most mate for life and only move on when the other dies. I've always known that, in general, animal mothers are better at mothering than some humans but I didn't realize that so many animals keep their partners until death does them part.

Thats because if one pisses the other off enough they just eat them. But in all truth they probably have a better sense of who their life partner will be as compared to people. I'm sure they don't just pick the first one that comes along.

Yesterday 5 visitors were grazing on the dwarf bamboo in my back yard.

It's kinda hard to spot them, but they are there.

Clang, did you make time to go to Mass today? It's Ash Wednesday. Are you giving up anything for Lent?

I'm giving up Lent for Lent. I don't attend Church every week so I figure why give up meat for a few Fridays? I'm giving up nothing...I'm making donations to the Human Fund....
