I am surprised too!
I thought I could not give up eating meat. (I'm not giving it up) I am just experimenting with some vegan and vegetarian recipes and I am really surprised at how good they are and how much better I feel.
I went out on a limb and got a purple carrot box of food. (I was thinking in case I got sick and couldn't leave my house is this an option?) I think it totally is. However it isn't a very nice foot print since the food is coming from CA, but most or much of our food does anyway.
Thus far I had: Beet pancakes, stuffed sweet potatoes, Cauliflower Pakoras, Vegetable Pilaf w/ asparagus
Tomorrow night I am going to try cauliflower steaks. WTF is wrong w/me?
The box came with all the meals separated out and a recipe book that is awesome. I think this choice works for me maybe once a month. I find I am using alot of the ingredients and not throwing stuff out. My small town has limited options for buying for 1.
Now that I have the recipes I will probably just order one of these occasionally and buy all the ingredients myself. I think the price would be about the same.
Also, I thought I would totally be adding meat to these and I didn't. I think I will try meatless for the whole week with the exception of Salmon on Friday.

If I gave up meat I would be drooling every time I drove past a Burger King. It was a great idea to flame broil them burgers and let the smell go out the chimney stack to entice the population.

Veggies are much easier to grow than meat.

I can do without meat, sometimes it grosses me out anyway. But I really like seafood. Especially clams and oysters.

Yeah I like meat especially a good steak or burger. But I also like clams, oysters, salmon, scallops, sushi, herring, sardines, and anchovies. I didnt even realize until you mentioned the clams that they're probably not going to be having the DMV Clambake in August because of the coronavirus. That sucks.

Order some clams or buy some from your local fish market if you have one, that's what I just did. I ordered these from Cherrystone Aqua-Farms and they were excellent. I'm getting ready to order more along with some oysters too. Simplest thing you can make, just rinse the clams off, put in a pot with a little water and steam until they open.

I'm not a huge meat eater to begin with, except for bacon. I put that shit in everything. I heard that we might have a meat shortage soon.
Between packing plants closing due to covid illnesses, and the USDA relaxing inspection requirements, I may try to raise some pigs. Just for the Bacon.

One reason for my vegan experiment. I wanted to see how I would like it. I could always hunt quail out here if I needed to

I gotta figure out what to do with the 5 pounds of dried beans that I bought at the farmers market back in January. Most of my dry goods are going into canning jars.
My asshole husband thought we needed 30 pounds of flour when he went to the store last weekend. That right there is going to take a case of jars.

Quails are weird they will sit still until you get in the middle of them then they will take off all together. They have scared me a few times. It's usually in a field.
