Hi, Guss. Welcome to Mock. I have fond memories of a dog named Gus. He used to escape and come to my farm so much that I made a sign on a big piece of plywood that said GUS IS HERE and I stuck it out by the road. When I didn't see him for awhile I asked his family where he was and they told me they gave him away because he wouldn't stay at home. You would think they would have offered him to me! Sumbitches!

I have a friend who comes over and foragers through my woods,   comes out with buckets of different kinds of mushrooms.  He sells them to local restaurants.  He was all excited one day,  because he found a big ass ugly orange mushroom that he sold for like $200.00 I think.    I ought to charge him a foragers fee.

I love mushrooms but I don't know enough about them to do anything like what your friend did so I buy them fresh or canned. There are mushroom farms up in PA and they would send semis down here to horse country to buy the manure from the horse farms and take it back for the mushrooms. I had free fresh mushrooms for years until we changed the bedding we use.

When I did cook, I did the same thing. Bought fresh or canned mushrooms.

Only the ones that you trip on, and that was when I was 16. I would like to go out and pick the ones that you eat for food, but we dont have any places around here where they grow that I know of.

The turtle put his head back in his neck and burped. Later as a good turtle will do he popped back out and said "turtle soup?" considering he was a pet or so he thought he was concerned. Soon his entire entourage was deftly looking from side to side wondering who was reaching into the aquarium. 

The Salamanders thought they had been transported to a government facility were gently the turtle said. " fear not my fellow friends, Tommy owns this tank" And they were once again transported to their happy place, thanks to the turtles wise tutelage. 

Least we forget the lowest of the animal kingdom, as we may once be looked upon as "soup" said Tommy.
