I thought I needed a new tank, I woke up this morning to a puddle, but it only needed a relief valve. Fixed it in 1 hr. I should test the damn thing every year but always forget.
Good morning!

They make a horrendous mess if the bottom rusts out. Awful, just awful. I'm glad that didn't happen to you.

Are you on town water, or a well? You should install a regulator, if you're in town water. The water pressure fluctuates.

The pressure switch went so I replaced it. It still leaked. So I bought another one and will install it tomorrow. I would go with a tank less but you have to vent those outside the space and cannot use a chimney, a PITA.

I have a regulator but that has nothing to do with a water heater. The water goes in and does not need to be regulated the GPM does not matter, it's not that sensitive. The pressure valve is only if it overheats but mine corroded so it didn't matter. I just wont be washing my rancid ass for a couple days.

I have no idea what a gpm is, but I do know that once we installed the regulator outside the house, we haven't had to replace the hot water tank every other year. Being without hot water sux.

Mrs. Biggie forgot to pay the gas bill and we had cold water for three weeks, it's a great way to shut her the fuck up when I do something wrong.

When that happens the gas company tries to charge 90.00 to come in and light the pilot lights. I tell them they are all electric and the only pilot is on the water heater, they then say "Well, we have to check it" I then give them my gas license number and they shut-up and go away.

Well, got my tank in the cellar and ran into some issues with the feed lines. This new one is way heavier than the old one. But I think its lined with thicker stuff. Its 3" bigger round but the same amount of water. I was going to just have someone else do it but everyone is a week out and I'm almost done. It sucks not having hot water but a week out and 800.00 just to install the thing fixed my thinking. It should be done soon and I will have hot water again (It will take time for the water to heat) In between my work projects and this is kinda stretching me out a bit. Plus..........is it done yet. is it done yet, is it done yet , is it done yet...........now THATS getting on my nerves!
