The borders dont have the super duper covid 19 strain like Florida has, plus it's scientific proof that the people crossing the border are ten times more likely to wear masks than floridians. It's only Florida even though our death and hospitalization rates are lower than other states.

Looks like I won't be getting the vaccine anytime soon. Closest place near me with vaccination appointments is 200 miles away in Syracuse. I think I'll wait until they have appointments at SUNY Albany 2 miles away.

Seems to me your job makes you an "essential worker", as you deal with the general public on a daily basis, right?
Keep trying, check with the NY Health Dept, here in FL, the FL Health Dept has a waiting list that you sign up for. We did that, and in between that our publix supermarket became the main dispenser of Covid-19 vaccinations. We applied there, and luckily We got our shot there last week.
And now the FL Health Dept emailed us saying appointments are open, do we still want them? So of course we said no. It's worth a try, check in NY.

Ok I will. I'll keep checking the other site too to see if appointments closer to me become available.

Currently I'm still mostly "sheltering in place", waiting till 3/9/21 when I get my "second' Covid shot, and then have to wait 10 to 14 more days after that to become immune to the Covid-19 virus!
It has been said, even after all that, I still will need to wear mask, and social distance to protect others in case I may be carrying the virus!
At least we will be able to go out and about again, without fear of getting the killer virus!
Casinos, outdoor dining, shopping, beach here we come soon!

I'm really confused about this covid vaccine, and I hope that someone who is smarter than I, and has a lot of patience can explain it to me. If you've already had covid, why would a vaccine be necessary? Also, if you tested positive for covid more than once, what makes you think that the vaccine will work?

I don't think the vaccine is going to stop people from getting Covid much in the same way getting a flu shot doesn't keep you from getting the flu. I think it's to keep people from getting deathly ill and/or dying. That's just my understanding.
I often feel skeptical & I don't know if I'll ever feel comfortable being in an enclosed space with a lot of people ever again.

This is one of my biggest concerns. I feel perfectly comfortable being in an enclosed space, but a lot of people don't. I hear so many stories about the elderly being depressed due to isolation, I also know that children who would normally thrive in social situations are now becoming hermits. I won't even get into the abusive situations that are happening. How many children need to die, and elderly before we open up the country again? Are they considered Covid deaths?

I don't disagree with anything you said. I believe there are many who are suffering, from the young to the old and those in between who have lost their livelihood. I have empathy and I know I'm blessed not to have the concerns that so many do. I'm not oblivious to any of that. I don't know what the answer is that favors all.

Bike week is going on and everyone is partying like it's 1999 over here. The majority of the bikers are 40 plus and none of them give a shit about covid.

I barely remember 1999 it was an amazingly foggy year, cloudy everyday with chance of rain everyday. Of course if it was raining Pussy I would have been hit with a Dick because my luck was sooooooo good that year.

Here's a question I think is even more important: if vaccines are safe, as we are constantly being told, why have the manufacturers been shielded from liability?
The fact that they lobbied for and were granted exemption from liability tells me that these companies are once again engaging in fraudulent marketing, and it very much seems to me that our government is encouraging them to do so, which is disturbing to say the least.

Some excellent books to read on the subject of vaccines:
The Contagion Myth, by Dr. Thomas Cowan and Sally Fallon Morell.
The Autism Vaccine, by Forrest Maready.

Well today I finally got my second vaccine shot late this afternoon.
So far so good, but I don't want to say too much until I make it through the night.
And then when I wake up tomorrow morning, and see how I feel then!
But mentally feeling so far, I feel "liberated"! Bout time!

I'm hoping to get my first shot soon. I pre-registered to get the vaccine at the Washington Armory near me. They'll call me to schedule an appointment when they have vaccine available.
