Today I loaded my truck with almost but not quite a cord of wood, I then went and unloaded and stacked it. All split and seasoned. I used to cut and split 4-5 cords a day then go out and party.
Not anymore. My son helped me but I had to push him. He says "Are we loading ALL of this?" I laughed and said you better get going.
It killed me though that crap aint easy. I was huffing and puffing like Puff the magic dragon.

Here's a funny. So I dropped the wood at the end of her porch, it wraps around the camp. She has a 36" soffet that sticks out quite a bit, so I said "stack it on the porch and it will be good". She sends me a picture of all this wood in the house near the fireplace, She did a good job and it looked kinda cool but...................I say's "what about the bugs?" she says what bugs? I then told her that centipedes and spiders and all kinds of bugs live in that wood and once it warms up they scamper all around.
All I heard was "Oh.....SHIT!!!" I gotta go.................. hey, I told her to stack it on the porch. I thought she knew that.

Anyone that says their wood has no bugs is lying. Any wood that has bark on it will have bugs. Yeah this stuff was seasoned for a few years but they all have it. You never know what will come prancing outta that wood. Better to just have enough to burn in the house. Unless of coarse bugs are your happy little "friends"

Did you hear about the guy who anonymously called the DEA and gave them a tip of drugs possibly stashed by his tenant in a pile of fire wood on his property.
Shortly thereafter, the DEA swarmed all over the property, found the firewood and ripped it all apart, after thoroughly looking they didn't find any drugs, so they left.
The guy's neighbor came over and asked him what the hell just happened?
The guy said, he just had a cord of un-split fire wood dropped off, and and now the wood is all split!!

Most wood is seasoned outside. Around here, it's like condos for critters.
