INSURRECTION
(07-19-2021, 06:11 PM)Duchess Wrote: You can't even comprehend an exceedingly simple sentence, rothschild. It's the same shit, but a different day for seven fucking months.

You're the one getting angry, Duchess, because you're emotionally invested. And to make matters worse, you deny you're emotionally invested. It's like the liar who lies for so long that they start believing their lies, and lose the ability to distinguish truth from falsehood, because they don't value honesty. Without honesty we're "trash humans" -- to borrow your own words. You continually accuse others of the very things that you yourself routinely do -- which should alarm you, because it's a very nasty pathology.

For 30 years I've looked up every single word that I didn't fully comprehend, so no, I'm not the one who has issues with comprehension. But do feel free to double down on your childishness. It's no skin off my nose.

I think so, too, but I also think it would be beneficial to try and discuss it rationally. That she chooses not to and instead claims we're "flat earthers" is a pretty clear indication that she herself is a true believer who has zero appreciation of the necessity for being open-minded -- without which, critical thinking is an impossibility.

Don't know if you remember the "Moral Majority" from the Reagan/Bush years, but in certain respects a great many liberals today have an identical mindset: "we're right, anyone who disagrees with us is wrong and should be censored/condemned.

I'm on the same page as Duchess.

How was the insurrection lied about in the media?

Will you tell me that Pence's life wasn't threatened?

Will you tell me that no one else was in any "real" danger but the media made it look like it?

And how exactly were the George Floyd protests downplayed?

Don't forget to use "protestors" and "insurrectionists" especially since you say they were condemed by Republicans and Democrats alike. And since the insurrectionists were fringe groups and agitators.

Also-don't forget to add on there which one the President condemed also. Even tho he is a Republican-tell me how and when and how quickly he "condemed" the insurrectionists.

Why the insistence on using the term "insurrection" when no one is being charged with insurrection? Whose interests are served by this dishonesty? Why hasn't it occurred to you that it is precisely this sort of dishonesty that makes it almost impossible to have reasoned discussion?

For the record, I think the dishonesty is systemic, not a left or right phenomenon. Too many of us are more concerned with being "right" than with being honest, and it's killing this nation, and most other nations in the world.

Why use a word defined as "A violent uprising against government?" No, of course the charges aren't going to say, "This person is being held for being an insurrectionist"
Don't be daft.
The charges will be violence, conspiracy, obstruction, trespassing etc etc

A DEA agent has been arrested for his participation in the insurrection. He was fired in March when that information came to light. Not only did he wear his badge to the insurrection, he was carrying his DEA issued firearm. He's appearing in court even as I type this.

I'm not sure and please school me about how blocking the exits on a police station and setting it on fire was not worse than the Washington protest.

If "insurrection" isn't a crime per the federal criminal code, then the term is being used by media to inflame a situation that is already causing permanent damage to this nation. As we begin to see real evidence of election fraud, which the media has lied about time and again, claiming that the election was completely without fraud -- which has never occurred in the history of this nation -- that demonstration becomes increasingly legitimate, especially when you take into consideration the double standard that is applied re violence committed by Antifa and BLM. The double standard alone completely demolishes your credibility and integrity, which does a disservice to the cause you claim to support. You, and those of your ilk, are damaging the cause of social justice because you have foolishly accepted the false notion that means are justified by ends, whereas the reality is that means dictate ends. Your cause is not the tiniest bit more legitimate than the cause of those you decry as "insurrectionists", because you are every bit as susceptible to being incited by violent and hateful rhetoric.

Tomorrow, July 27, the bipartisan committee will begin the 16 hearings regarding the insurrection. The hearings will kick off with testimony from the Capitol Police and Metropolitan Police. These people were in the thick of it and have firsthand knowledge. I look forward to their testimony, as does much of the world.
