Did you live in a big town/city? Was there a decent sized population? Was there more than one store? More than one gas station? More than one school? Many people live in places where there are no opportunities because there is no big population, where jobs are hard to find.

Well I didnt grow up in Mayberry, but if I did I'd probably just hang out with Otis and sell moonshine.

Yeah, and be prepared to get $7.25 and hour! In a hick town like Mayberry in the '60's, he'll be lucky if he gets $2.25 an hour. But I'm sure Aunt Bea will give him all the pickles he can eat.

Aunt Bea's pickles are spoken for. After I make moonshine with Otis I will be teaming up with Bea to sell pickles. Aunt Bea's and Sassy Sally's pickles. We'll make moonshine pickles, the whole town will be addicted to them until fucking Andy puts a stop to it.

Anyhow, what the hell does this have to do with minimum wage. Whether you live in a small town or a big city, you would still get paid according to your qualifications and how long you've worked there. Why should some kid get paid 15 bucks an hour at the gas station when Gomer has been working there for years getting paid with soda pop?

Well to be fair all the people that have been working at a place for many years should get the same compensate pay. So if you make 20.00 an hr you should get 25.00 an hr if dum dums will be getting paid 15.00

In a one store town the cost of living would be the lowest imaginable.
