They just couldn't do it by themselves and the boss was no where to be found. Another time, apparently there was only one worker and he left a sign on the door & drive thru saying he's be back in a few he had to take a shit.

Wonder if he was in such a hurry to get back, if he remembered to "WASH HIS HANDS"?

I don't know what's going on there, but it has become a town-wide joke. Businesses are suffering because of lack of help. I think the places that have remained fully staffed are paying a better wage than those struggling right now.

This is biting me in the ass now.

I am trying to get an appointment at the vetrinarian for Bela, my cat. My regular vet is closed until next week-but said to text in emergencies-I did that. No response. The message also said to call a particular vet that is in the next town over, or 2 towns for that matter.
AFter calling several I finally got through and I have an appt tomorrow. I will be taking off work to get her in. She isn't eating or drinking, and is in pain if I try to give her fluids with a syringe. : (
I've cried so much today that my face hurts.

I am beside myself, whatever that means.
Yesterday I spent the day just cuddling with her, she didn't leave my side.

Please tell me what the vet says after your appt. I want to know.

I will.
I am hoping my regular vet can get through to me before tomorrow. I've texted, emailed and left voice mail.
Ugh.
I hate this side of the state today. I don't know if Seattle would be any different, but I was ready to drive 3-4 hours if I had to.

I"m mad at your regular vet! Shit happens and they should have had someone available to clients immediately. Gawd!

Good luck and hope you get through this without having to resort to emergency care!

I hate having to go to the emergency vet, in my experience they take advantage of your pet and pocketbook. I hope it doesn't come to that.

That is where I am going tomorrow 0_0

I gave her some tuna water earlier, she drank it and loved it but then cried out in pain after. But recovered quickly.

Sounds a bit like strep throat. I'd spit when I got it because swallowing was so painful. Good luck.

That's wonderful to read! Drinking is way more important than eating.

I was mad also, but now I am thinking that maybe it was a good thing I had to take her to a different vet. This one is way larger, more veternarians and able to handle more clients.

Bela now has a team of veternarians for her care. I can't even explain everything that is wrong with her, but they gave her a bunch of meds and stuff to make her more comfortable and able to eat. I know she isn't ready to die yet and I'm not ready to lose her.
I would wake up at night and look over at her to make sure she was still breathing. So stressful.
She has s swollen lympth node and small cell lymphoma.

As long as her quality of life isn't suffering I will do what I can to help her.

I didn't even know animals could get cancer. What a thing. : (

Yeah, they can, just like people and it's just as sucky with a beloved pet. Bela is so lucky to have you! You're a blessing to her. I hope that knowing she will be well cared for by her vets has brought you some comfort. It is so hard to see our pets in distress. Ugh. I won't presume to know your pain & worry, but I know what it's like to deal with health issues in an animal you love.   72

Thank you for the update. I appreciate that you took the time to give it.

Veterinary medicine does some amazing things these days. Hopefully this isn't advanced to the point that it isn't treatable. If it has, do the best that you can and know that it makes a difference. She knows you love her, and that counts for a lot. I'll keep you both in my prayers.

I have to put Sally down next week. My dog, not me. She has a large tumor on her head that is getting bigger and now she's going down hill really quick. She's almost 15 so surgery would be useless. It sucks, I know.
