Tipping culture

I think that tipping people has gotten out of hand.

Who do you tip

Why do you tip

How much do you tip

Me:
WHO-
I tip service workers that I come across.

WHY-
Most service workers are paid minimum wage or less

HOW MUCH-
Usually 30 to 50 percent of my bill

I might be doing it wrong

****
It seems like everyone and everything expects a tip nowadays.
Do you tip?

I would tip 20-25%.  I can't imagine a scenario where I would tip 50% of my bill.

I do it often, because  I can.  But I think it's because I live in a rural area .  I only tip waiters/waitresses  that amount,  because they make 2 bucks an hour around here.

I started this thread mostly because of door dash,  I don't use door dash at all,  but there was a newsclip recently that said if you don't tip the door dash ahead of time,  you won't get your food.

Tipping in Portugal is very controversial, its nice to know if you only have the cost of the meal its not a big deal. Then when you do tip %10 is cool.
