the 2022, trivial, boring, I really miss the old lady, boring drivel thread

Two people per bedroom with a central living room and kitchen on the second floor, much better than the 4th floor heat bungalow her freshman year. I still never got a straight answer about what job she will be doing when she gets done and I hope she thinks about that this year because I will really bug her more as the years go by. She will probably be an English teacher in the end that I'm not to happy about.

God forbid she ends up poor or lower middle class or teaching those filthy illegal immigrants. hah 39

This time it wasn't so bad. They had these big rolling baskets that only took 2 trips. It was on the second floor and there was an elevator, plus it had AC. Last time it sucked it was on the 4th floor and the stairs just about killed me. This time things went smooth and it was over in 1.2 an hr. I had plenty of time to drop my truck off to get work done on the bed, cab corners and rocker panels. I'm getting new mounts and all new bed rails.

I can now sleep late and just say fuck the world for a day.

All this to be an English teacher? I wanted to be a dermatologist, but luckily my life took a different turn because it would really suck digging cancer and warts out of people's skin all day right about now. I'd blow my brains out.

Well she really needs to decide by the end of this year to go forward with a major.

Yeah our daughter and son in law moved our grandson into his dorm yesterday. Emotional day for all three of them, he’s an only child. From the pictures they sent,  He has a beautiful room, with mini fridge and also a microwave, and computer desk. A nice student lounge, and cafeteria, parking space for his car, beautiful grounds.
(Florida Southern, specializes in computer science, his major) Lucky kid!

My BIl and and his wife both specialized in computer science. They are now retired and rich. Like rich rich, not just crap rich like us. Her first job was doing something for that stupid internet I haz a cheezburger cat thing making $500,000 a year. Like just cat memes talking ridiculousness. They had to move to Seattle to get better jobs though, but that made them enough to retire in their 40s.

My grandson is already a computer science wiz, he got a scholarship and a cash bonus from the college,
he’s just a natural, they really want him on their computer gaming team that challenges games with others colleges.
We all are so very proud of him! He has a outstanding future ahead of him.

Yes, it's a lot of staring in front of a screen though and just typing in codes and whatever the hell they do all day everyday. My bil and his wife said they are done and can't take it anymore, but fortunately they made enough money to be able to do that.

He’s in the “gaming” aspect of the stage now, the other sciences will follow eventually I guess, I’m not a computer wiz.

Neither am I, it's stuff I can't even comprehend. My brother in laws first job was to make sure Bing never goes down. So they gave him this little beeper in case something goes haywire. Then he got a job with Microsoft as the lead guy. His wife is Chinese and they are like, I don't know, Chinese smart people. But kind of weird. Like they can control the internet, but embarrass the fuck out of you at a restaurant.

Do people who have always lived in the desert miss grass & trees or is it the case that you don't miss what you've never had? I can't imagine no grass or trees and everything looking so barren.

I was just looking at some pix and it made me wonder. I could see mountains in the distance, but there was no grass, no trees and their yard was gravel. I didn't like it at all. I need trees & grass.

That's great for them but it shows how buggered the priorities are in this country. All this tech shit has gotten us is shitloads of zombies with smart phones glued to their faces. "Useless eaters" is an apt description, but these people were conditioned to be this way, because the vast majority take their cues from what they see on the telly.

It drives me crazy when people come to my area and say, "Its so beautiful here" And I just wonder what the fuck they are talking about.
They see the lake and they think everything is beautiful, but I see the brown hillsides and barely any trees. I miss the green all the time.
I don't think people who live over here do tho. And those that grew up over here don't seem to miss any grass or trees.

Every ecosystem has its benefits, I prefer a wetter one but the desert does have it charms.

I think if I were used to seeing trees & grass and everything lush & green I would be depressed to be surrounded by barren earth. That's just a guess of course, but nature plays a meaningful role in my life as it does in yours, so you'll probably be able to better understand my opinion than some others. Some people don't care at all about nature.
