Are there foods you eat strictly in the Summer?

I eat whatever I'm in the mood for all year long, but I was trying to think of a fruit or vegetable that you can only find in summer. I think it's apricots, they're not always readily available like other produce. And I love a good apricot.

You live in a place where you have fresh fruit & vegetables readily available nearly year round. I once went to a strawberry festival down there in February I think it was, it was fantastic. I'm still about 6 weeks away from corn & fresh tomatoes. I eat so much better during the growing season.

There are certain vegetables and fruit that are way better at diffent times of year like tomatoes, cherries and watermelon, but you can still get them anytime of the year here, they just don't taste as good.

Do you ever have just a tomato sandwich with nothing else other than the bread and maybe mayonaise and pepper? It's one of my favorite sandwiches when tomatoes are in season.

I was going to make a whole thread just for rhubarb. Does anyone else here like it?

I haven't had any since I was a kid and I recall it being somewhat bitter tasting. I might like it in a dessert tho.

Don't do it. Don't ruin perfectly good strawberries in a strawberry rhubarb pie. Eat a strawberry cheesecake instead.

I've made rhubarb juice with a bunch of sugar and add mint.
I've had rhubarb crisp and rhubarb in muffins and even rhubarb salsa.

I've heard that too so I just goggled it. The leafy part is toxic to humans & animals but you'd have to eat quite a bit for it to hurt you, it's best to just not eat it.
