Today in local news a semi was hijacked and overturned and the freeway is closed. Where do I get this news bit from? From the highway dept!
I seem to get my news and weather from the traffic reports. Also it is entertaining to read whenever there is a road closure because alot of people like to blame the agencies-BUT NOT THE CRIMINAL! They even go so far as to blame the Governor and say that other states could have handled this sooo much better. Sheesh people.

I get my local news from Facebook. It's because I belong to several first responders groups. I don't have a scanner, but most of my friends do
I have alerts set up for the national news that I am interested in.

I drove around some old neighborhoods today and had some errands to run in one of the cities and drove some routes I used to drive. There are spots covered in homeless camps.
I was looking for the news report I saw the other day from the local news and had to wade through a bunch of stories about shootings-in this state! One was in a homeless camp. 40 homicides in Tacoma this year. Just in the last week I've read about 6 murders by gunshot in the surrounding areas. Also: random piece of news. Trying to see if I can post a pic. Kevin Mason turned an old stump into a home for woodland creatures as a form of therapy during his cancer treatment. Now, the city is concerned it could be a hazard. https://www.king5.com/article/news/local...9a2ddd54c5

I clicked your link & I want to know how the story ends. I hope the city follows through and assumes responsibility for it rather than tear it down.

My friend got her car stolen. It was a kia-popular car to steal after some video went viral on how easy it is to steal.
The rental co issued her a replacement-guess what brand? Kia. But they said it wasn't the year that is easy to steal. The vehicle was parked in the street-that is where it is parked where she lives, no garage. She was home and had some maintenance workers at her home when thieves attempted to steal her kia rental. She went outside and told the guys to move on. The back window rolled down in the getaway vehicle rolled down (There were 4 guys there) and he said, "What did you say?" and she replied back, "This one is not available, you just have to move on" And they left. And then she was like, "Wtf did I just do?" AND THEN to add insult to injury she got a ticket in the mail from when the thieves ran a red light and were speeding through an intersection-WITH THIER PICTURE!

Well this is a fucked up news story
NORTH BEND, Wash. — A pedestrian on Interstate 90 was hit and killed by at least one car on Wednesday night. At about 10 p.m., someone was sitting in the second of the three eastbound lanes near North Bend when they were hit by a car, according to the Washington State Patrol. The first car to hit the victim stopped on the right shoulder and waited for police. Troopers said an unknown number of vehicles hit the victim. The highway was blocked for about three hours. The circumstances of why the victim was sitting on the highway are not known. The victim’s identity has not been released. https://www.kiro7.com/news/local/pedestr...7PGYPKP3M/

I was a passenger in a car, the cars ahead of us were all pulling into the passing lane, the dude was sitting in the road with his back to the traffic. It was before cell phones and I had the driver pull into the next place I saw and I called 911. The dispatcher told me I wasn't the first person to call about him. I don't know if he was saved or hit.

omg
That is awful Bad enough that someone wants to kill themselves, but to involve others is fucked up, if that is what happened. I can't imagine what other circumstance this would occur unless someone actually killed someone and dropped them off on the highway.

Residents expressed thier opinion on social media on a local library's decision to have an anti-valentines day event. Who knew that so many people felt that strongly about valentines day? But they do!

While trying to find that story again I found another story. A body was found near the damn and next of kin have not been notified so they are not releasing information yet. My first thought is the guy that went missing from the campground last summer (he was 18 and went kayaking and only the kayak was found w/ the vest).
Also I think I read the body was un-identifieable. And some people tagged a name I recognize and they all said, "I hope its not him" so I wonder if someone else has gone missing recently. *edit* I found the missing person report and saw this gal's page and it looks like it might be him. I don't know who he is tho.
