SUPREME COURT FUCKERY

I can only copy/paste a portion. Ugh.

The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that a high school football coach from Bremerton, Washington had the right to pray on the field immediately after games ended.

Joseph Kennedy claimed that the Bremerton School District violated his religious freedom when they told him to cease praying on the 50-yard line. The district said they were trying to remain neutral and to avoid looking like they were endorsing a religion.

The case made headlines after Kennedy was given a poor performance report, put on leave and ultimately left the school in 2015.

This is a good thing.   Now the children cannot get persecuted for praying to their fictitious diety whilst being shot at.....

A redistricting map in Louisiana that was found to discriminate against blacks was blocked by a district court and now the SCOTUS has come in and overruled it, they said the map is fine and voting in the Fall can proceed no matter that it was proven to discriminate. This fucked up court is burning shit to the ground.

I was really confused when I read about this earlier.      How can a federal court insert it's nose into where state districts should be?  And did they skip over the state supreme court and hop right to federal?

I hear ya, I was too, I often am in regards to the law.

The Supreme Court has something called "original jurisdiction". When they rule on a constitutional issue, their rule is final. In this particular case they ruled that a hold should be put on the lower (state) court's ruling that found a republican drawn map suppressed Black voters. The SCOTUS did not offer any reasoning behind their decision nor did any of the justices sign it. Some refer to that as a "shadow docket". This hold will remain in place (during mid-terms) until the Supreme Court makes their decision in a similar case in Alabama.

Icky- I kinda see the logic of settling similar cases together,  but this should be a time sensitive issue, decided on way before the elections (I know,  I'm captain obvious today).

On the bright side,   I think we should have a law that says 'all supreme court justices have to be lifelong registered libertarians.   They'd be a lot more impartial than this bunch of buffoons.

I did not know until moments ago that the Supreme Court does not have the power to enforce its decisions. It seems like I should have known that. Did y'all know?

That is the executive branch. All the court did was give the power of law back to the individual states. NY. Mass> California are not affected they are just bitching because other states are not going along with their liberal policies.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

yes, i have posted that in other threads when someone says - 3 coequal branches of government. the courts have no mechanism to enforce their decisions; most do it voluntarily because they don't understand the "God" given rights. under our system of government - a constitutional republic, the states have the authority to override any federal regulation or federal court decision. it is called "federalism".

that is how this country was run until Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson started turning it into the 4th branch of government - the administration state.

Both parties engage in gerrymandering. And both parties complain when it doesn't go their way.

Pappy, that pic is large to the point that it comes across as scroll spamming. Could you reduce it to about 13 of it's current size, and maybe put the site address in your signature, so we can all be happy?

Thanks.

What are God given rights?

Is that the unalienable rights?

"That which cannot be given away or taken away"

Yes, and I have no problem with that because a long time ago I realized that God and religion have little or nothing to do with each other.

*That's inalienable, BTW.

they're crafted for Facebook and Twitter, not this shithole...

I don't wish to denigrate shitholes; this place would have to go up ten steps to get to shithole.

Nature's God

A very short primer about where our rights come from.

To fully understand you need to read Blackstone.

Blackstone's COMMENTARIES ON THE LAWS OF ENGLAND

This is the Cliff Note synopsis.

I would add this, the decision to overturn Roe was constitutional; the right to abortion doesn't exist, and for the federal government to proclaim it did is absurd. The Constitution enumerated 18 powers the federal government was to control, period. All other powers were left to the states to decide.

Enumerated powers

I have said many times Roe would be overturned, and I said the decisions would be returned for the states to decide, Guess what, that is exactly what happened because that is what the Constitution says that is how it should be decided.

The decision to curtail the EPA regulations is just the beginning. The federal government has no business doing anything but those 18 enumerated things. The states get to make all the other decisions.

Read Madison's Federalist #45 (actually, you should read them all).

Technically you're right, Pappy, but I fail to see how that matters in a society that has terminal corruption -- and that threshold was crossed when the Federal Reserve Act was passed and signed into law. Maybe you don't understand how debt slavery works. The federal government is completely dependent on the largesse of the Federal Reserve, which for the most part is a private institution. That's an extreme degree of corruption. Whatever independence this nation once had, it's gone at this point -- completely. You can have a constitutional convention, but I guarantee you it will be ignored by the federal government, because it's a slave to the financial powers-that-be.

"The modern banking system manufactures money out of nothing. The process is perhaps the most astounding piece of sleight-of-hand that was ever invented. Banking was conceived in inequity and born in sin... But if you want to continue to be slaves of the bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, then let the bankers continue to create money and control credit. -- Josiah Charles Stamp

I understand completely, but you offer no solution. You just continue to talk about the problem; the time for talk is over, now is the time for action.

Whereas I am working for the solution.

Everything that is broken can be fixed by restoring the written Constitution, citizens accepting their responsibility to hold all elected officials accountable and educating folks on where their rights truly come from.

How can anyone deny that this is God’s Country!

That fact was never more eloquently described than in Katharine Lee Bates epic poem:

“O beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain, for purple mountain majesties above the fruited plain!

America! America! God shed his grace on thee and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea!

Oh America, oh America, oh America, oh America

O beautiful for heroes proved in liberating strife.
Who more than self the country loved and mercy more than life!

America! America! God shed his grace on thee and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea!

America! America!!

God shed his grace on thee and crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea... to shining sea!!

Happy birthday America.

With God’s blessing, may you live in peace, always safeguard liberty and as Ronald Reagan expressed, be “...a shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides freedom-loving people everywhere."

When Nietzsche proclaimed God to be dead, he was referring to the ones that were created by man; in actuality, those "Gods" were never alive, except in the minds of true believers such as yourself.

Go right ahead and invoke your dead god, but I guarantee you the results will be no different than any of the other times it's been done in human history: more war, more strife, more polarization. Everything we don't have enough of already. And do keep shouting, because that's sure to win the day for you.
