Unicorn Hunters

First, many but not all situations where people are given the title of “Unicorn Hunter” follow one very specific model. Here are the archetypal “Unicorn Hunters.”
The Unicorn Hunters are a male/female couple, the female partner is bisexual while the male partner is heterosexual (mostly), and they are looking to have a woman start dating them together. They have been together for over a year and are open-minded, tolerant, ethical, progressive people. Their relationship has some very good points, they genuinely care for each other, are committed, and tend to be open to new experiences. One of our intrepid Unicorn Hunters ran into the idea of swinging/open relationships/polyamory. Much to their mutual surprise, neither party completely dismissed the idea (maybe someone did the first time, but they came back to it later, and finally the idea stuck). After much foot-dragging and many late night talks, the decision was made to go for it

What is a unicorn?
A "unicorn" is a beautiful (of course!), single polyamorous woman willing to be sexually and romantically involved equallywith both members of a couple in a closed relationship. The unicorn is expected to be with both of them, and will not be allowed to have any other partners. This is one of the most sought-after arrangements when a couple new to polyamory looks to open their relationship. Couples usually discover such a woman is almost impossible to find. This Web site explains why.

The difference being that usually it is a couple that hasn't done this before and suddenly decides they are going to find thier "3rd" and are on the hunt. That is what is happening in my situation. She is on a high energy seduction mission, it is a little much for me. AND the fact that she said he wants to chat w/ me too-separately. I said not now. Not trying to rain on your parade at all! I want to be clear about that, I just want you to be super aware. If y'all hook up and they fall for you, there is the potential for them to make life uncomfortable and by that I mean, they will show up at your home, they will show up at places they know you like to go, they will show up at work, they will call you repeatedly, stuff like that, over possessive stuff.

Please, by all means, rain on this parade. LOL. Absolutely!
So I met them at the lake today, I kayaked, she paddleboarded and he kayaked. We just hung out like normal. Which I find to be nice. LOL. It is apparent she is too scared to make anything happen in person, which I find humorous. I have also evaded hanging out more anyway because this whole thing doesn't seem like a very good idea to me anyway.

Seriously. I think they could murder me. It would just blandly be called, "Murder in a small town"

I don't drink, I know you don't drink either, but this is the point where people would normally have a couple just to loosen up enough to make the first move. Have they done this before or are they simply curious and want to experiment?

I'm guessing it is and that's why they want to spice things up, but I don't really know anything about this sort of thing.

No worries.
I know they drink. @RC I think their marriage is going fine, according to her, and she loves her husband and they are happy.

If you want to be a true unicorn, then you need to shut down any feelings that you might have. In other words, you need to be disposable. Otherwise, look into poly, where every person has a voice. |
