Pie crust
#1
Does anyone know about pie crusts?  The recipe says to prebake the crust using pie weights (which I don't have, and I don't want to waste my beans)  if im using a frozen crust,  do I still need a weight if I put it in the oven frozen?

Nope.

Prick the around the bottom with a fork and toss it in frozen.

I've often found that pre-baking (blind baking) crusts, even when demanded by a recipe, is unnecessary . . . depending on the type of crust and what is being baked.

Thanks for letting me use the word "prick", today . . . without associating it with a person.

Happy baking!

I was contemplating making a quiche, but went with steak tips, instead.  I'll probably make the quiche on Saturday,
