I'm so grossed out by the hotdog eating contests, or really any kind of food eating contests I see this time of year. It makes me want to hurl whenever I inadvertently come across video of it.

The worst ones are the food challenges with homie having a gigantic black beard.

I did a watermelon eating contest as a kid one year. 2nd place. I just smashed my face into that melon. It was so good. LOL

As of five weeks ago, I moved in with Maqui (my friend who suffered the stroke), as her husband's father not only has Parkinson's, but suffered a stroke 10 days after hers. He's been with him ever since. With four dogs (who are notoriously agitated by loud noises), it was a small blessing for the both of us. A Caucasian Shepard is one tough, strong big ol' boy to casually comfort and restrain! (Side note: He did enjoy the Benadryl spiked steak pieces . . . and he slept soundly at the foot of my bed, throughout the night! Small blessings.)

Caucasian Shepards are some scary, intimidating looking dogs. If someone is in the market for a guard dog then Caucasians are at the top of the list.

I just spent three days watching Dead and Company shows in Colorado, they were a blast but I wore myself out and didn't do a damn thing yesterday but sit around, drink hard cider and watch thunderstorms roll thru Denver. It was nice...
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

He's almost 6 years old. We bonded when he was a puppy and for some reason, he's been my shadow ever since. Just a big scary looking titty-baby. I was recruited years ago to accompany him to the groomers or the vet. He isn't fond of strangers touching him, if he hasn't accepted them in his circle. However, once you're in . . . you're in! So . . . I'd be by his side, talking to him, reassuring him . . . to keep him from using his very low and extended "You're starting to piss me off " growl. To date, he's never been muzzled when he's been with me, for appointments . . . even when he starts his long, low, growl and begins to slowly turn his head towards the "offender". Yeah . . . I'll admit it. It's a real ego stroking moment when he responds to my words and touch in front of others, and complies. Especially when there is fear in their eyes! |
