One of my neighbors down the street does not have a generator, but she does have a 4 year old and a 3 month old. I was heading out to run an errand yesterday, and saw her sitting in her car in the driveway, stopped to let her know that I could pick up whatever she needed, so she didn't have to drag the kids out in the cold (it's been like 10 degrees here since Friday night). Found out she was in the car trying to keep her kids warm because she had no power and therefore no heat. Made her follow me back to my place and got them settled into a guest room. We just finished grabbing all the presents from her place, and to be honest, I can't wait for the 4 year old to wake up and realize that santa found her here and left presents. Christmas is for kids, after all.
Merry Christmas!
Good for you, CG. You're an A+ human being. What a difference that must have made for them.

What a fucking blast it was, the temporary foster kid was out of the hospital, the 4 year old was on cloud 9, the food was plentiful and I shoved the baby into my son's Christmas stocking and took pictures. Power is all back in my area now.

I wouldn't call it a stir, it's more of an up and down motion. But either way the frosting for the cookies is almost done.

A few years ago, I could bring back the spirit of Christmas with clearance toys for my grandbrats. They are teenagers now, and only want cash now. Meh.

So, the grandbrats are teens now, and all they want is cash for Christmas. My hubs got these little plastic capsules, like we used to get in the quarter machines. I put a 50 in each (4 in total) for the grandbrats., then put them into plaster of paris bricks, along with quartz, amethyst, and supposedly jade. currently wrapping them, and I'm not providing hammers, chisels or anything else that might help them. Ima show them the capsule, and tell them that's what they have to look for. The only rule is that they have to do it outside.

I came home and found that someone had left me a box of kindling under my tree. (The tree is on the porch)
I'm going to move the tree in the house tomorrow.
