I've always liked my men older, which means I had no problem dating 30 yo men vs. My 18 year old self.  I totally understand why the question happens. Though.

I've always liked older men too and I don't think that age difference is a problem. I only asked because I saw a conversation earlier where the older guy was being called a groomer and worse for dating an 18 year old.

Granted sometimes it works but generally speaking I’d say yeah, it’s wrong (not immoral but just wrong). A 30 year old (man or woman) ought to be mentally and emotionally in a completely different place in their life than an 18 y/o. Getting established in a career or job, self sufficient (hopefully) and ideally having already sown his or her wild oats and settling down at least to some degree. An 18 y/o is just getting started and they say our brains aren’t fully mature until 25 or so.
My daughter recently ended a 3 year relationship with a guy that was 37 to her 24. He turned out to be less mature than her in many ways which may explain why he was so enamored of her in the first place. Not to say she doesn’t have a lot to offer but I think he also very much enjoyed having young arm candy too. Good riddance.

At that age, in this day and age it is not right. However, if you fast forward into adulthood, then age should be no barrier. I have always dated younger men.

Right? But thank god she did. I’m sure I wrote a lot about her struggles with OCD in her mid teens. Actually took her to New Hampshire for a time then and Maggot offered his help (we didn’t connect but it meant the world to me). She got a late start but has been in college since 21. Straight A’s the entire time and will graduate soon with a degree in child and adolescent development. Plans to get her masters after that. ?

You remember well!! Yeah that freaking half pipe was at least around 24’ long and probably 10’ wide (built from wood and skate lite IIRC—a special wood that covered the surface). To my son’s disappointment we weren’t willing to disassemble it and move the damn thing. I put it up for free on Nextdoor and this guy showed up completely stoned out of his mind and said he’d take it. Anyone who thinks pot fucks with ur motivation is wrong. Somehow that guy got that beast disassembled and moved up to his acre + property in 4 days; by himself. I had contractors who wanted to charge me $2000k + just to remove it and he took it for free/reassembled it at his place. ? So the half pipe lives on elsewhere. ?

If that were true then 15 year old girls technically couldn’t be statutorily raped by an 18 year old man because they’re “more mature” and could “manipulate” the situation??? I call bullshit. Yes women do tend to mature more quickly than men but that’s a generalization and not always the case (there are many vulnerable, not too bright, immature young people of all genders). Besides the question was an 18 y/o vs a 30 y/o—different life stages.
