I think it’s so sweet that these billionaires want to selflessly build these communities for the benefit of all (including those “affordable homes” that will likely start at $500k if that. I REALLY like that they bought up land in secret and are taking people to court who don’t want to sell.
I know that area and the story has been in the local news many times. They must have some confidence that they’re going to get the zoning changed; can’t believe they’d go to the efforts and expense if they weren’t pretty sure they could overcome that obstacle. Sounds like 2026 might be a good year for them with Trump in office. The first video made it sound like they were going to “do away” with “needless” building regulations. I’ve read though that they plan to make it a climate friendly city. IDK. I don’t trust it one bit. Granted, it’s a drive from there to SF but they could just be creating their own suburb (w/out significant local big employers). I’d want to see every detail and plan but it smells very fishy (and the secrecy was, and still is, bizarre). Granted there are functioning farms out there but a lot of it is kind of a wasteland (probably why a lot of people willingly sold). Adding housing wouldn’t be bad necessarily but if they don’t have major employers willing to locate there…?? The woman who mentioned Hwy 12 is correct. That highway can’t handle commute traffic anymore than it already does. Dystopia. Commando Cunt Queen
