THE MURDERED HEALTHCARE CEO
#1
I wasn't going to start a thread about this, but changed my mind after reading this was a topic of discussion on Facebook and out of the 80,000 responses, 75,000 were of the "haha" emoji.

Americans have healthcare experiences to share, most are a nightmare. One person talked about insurance workers using AI to figure out how long they could take to deny & delay until the person died.

Do you have a healthcare nightmare story or know someone who does?

I was just denied for my broken wrist surgery, $138,000. They said because it was a slip and fall at a resort and that additional information is required and it may not be covered under my policy. So I filled out the papers they sent me and I guess I'll see.

Luckily they already did the surgery though because it was an emergency. My credit already sucks and my assets are untouchable. Something like being denied for ongoing cancer treatment, however, would be devastating.

The picture that they posted of him, with the fake smile,  annoyed me.  On the other hand, the memes flying through Facebook are hilarious.

There are some people out there who are viewing this young man as some kind of folk hero, he's not, he's a murderer. This perp walk NYC law enforcement choose to do plays into the folk hero bullshit.

I see him as a vigilante in a society ruled by and for criminals.

I don't condone murder as a solution.
I don't condone murder as a solution.
(I write this on my mental chalkboard in my brain)

"I can't justify murder as a solution " is another. If I were highly religious I would be asking God for forgiveness of my thoughts surrounding this.

Does it matter that the guy came from a privileged background and how he got his injury?

The health care system in this country is seriously messed up. It needs fixing. Perhaps one will come soon, but I remain sceptical.

I don't condone what he did, but I get it.

I also don't condone people being denied life saving treatment-and that needs to be dealt with. PEOPLE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CREATE GO FUND ME PAGES EVERY TIME SOMEONE NEEDS TREATMENT.

I hear ya, kid, and I agree with all of that.

You'd think this would be a wake-up call, but it won't be. The horror will wear off.
