I saw a hawk flying away with a squirrel as I was walking home from work through the park. The hawk dropped the squirrel as soon as it saw smoke looking at it.
wtf
What did I miss? Smoke?
My friend is pet sitting and the cat brought a dead squireel in the house and then when I was over for dinner and after we had all eaten the cat just comes in with a dead mouse. I was sort of laughing but my friends were a little horrified.
My phone autocorrected me to smoke. Didn't even notice until now.

I knew I saw both Clang and Duchess post about animals, but I didn't read it clearly.

I meant to type "the hawk dropped the squirrel as soon as it saw me looking at it."

I’m off to get my first MRI and they freaked me the fuck out about it so I’m anxious.
I was asked several times if I’m claustrophobic and I was like…how do I know? I’ve never been stuck in a tube. I was also told several times I could ask my Dr for a sedative if so (they don’t know about my med supply clearly). Anywho…if it’s 15 minutes in there I think it will be fine. If it’s an hour? I might lose my marbles (and I haven’t gotten a definitive answer to the duration but banking on the 15 minute one).
I honestly thought about taking a tiny bit of ketamine prior so I could just trip a little in there (I’ve only ever taken it therapeutically and in small amounts where I lay around for an hour—don’t understand people who enjoy it socially; it makes me want to cocoon). But nah, it also (even in small amounts) makes me tired for several hours and I don’t like that.
Lastly I want to hear I DON’T have a torn ligament that requires surgery.

I think you'd probably know by now if you were claustrophobic. It's my understanding that an MRI is in a very enclosed space so that's probably why they asked and offered a little something to relax you. You better check in when you're done so we know you made it through okay. I'm not kidding.

I survived. I was in there for around 30 minutes although my head and shoulders were out. It wasn’t too bad except being a NOOB I asked her what I shouldn’t do in there (she said she was going to check on me and I didn’t know if I could reply or what). But what she said was “don’t move or jerk your foot or legs”. Which promptly became my pink elephant during the whole ordeal. Suddenly I was ruminating about restless leg syndrome and what if I suddenly…JERKED?!?!
I did not though!
Results soon. I have a c/d. Might pop it in and see if anything makes sense to me.

Definitely nothing to like about the experience for sure. Both my kids have had MRIs before me (which was both troubling and comforting). I recommend not needing one for sure.
I hope I get good results/don’t need surgery too. Thank u.

Big, cumbersome, heavy and a PITA to put on but it lets me putter around and make and carry a cup of coffee so better. The weight still makes the top of my foot (where the bones are broken) sore so I pause frequently and sit on my ass.
@bigmark, yes, loud!! Even with ear plugs and headphones. I was trying to think of it like some old fashioned, cheap motel bed with the massage feature. But it sounds more like mortar fire I think.

We’re getting poisoned!
I had a nightly cup of ice cream habit for the last couple years and it’s gone. The stuff doesn’t appeal to me at all recently. *weeping*
In my case I think it has something to do with my damn broken foot and not being able to run. It’s killed my appetite. I’m doing far less physically AND I’m guessing I’m losing weight. Not a good combination for me. While sugar isn’t a good source of calories I’m not trying to lose weight.
But I know there are a million good reasons to reduce sugar intake (unrelated to weight) so r u happy about that?
Is that a good or bad thing in ur world, dammit? Lol.

I had traces of blood in my urine once and the fucking asshole doctor said I needed a cystoscopy. You have to lay there spread eagle while they put a camera up your vagina ( or penis) to look at the bladder. The doctor that did it was young too which somehow made it worse.

And this ^^^^ is why I rarely go to the Dr.
Fuck!!!
I can tolerate normal screenings and blood tests or whatnot but not so much anything above and beyond.
Although if I HAD to do that test, I’d be really happy to have a vagina vs a penis in that moment.

Well in all of the things I have given up I new sugar would be the last one that I would have to give up. Its just strange-all of the sudden I am craving savory foods.
It feels sad for me because my favorite desserts are Choc/peanut butter or things with berries.
There is a guy here who makes some amazing healthy choc mouse and blueberry frozen dessert-very minimal sugars and it is so good.

Yeah some doctors are too chop you open happy. I once had gallstones(probably still do) that even though they weren't the source of my abdominal discomfort that brought me there, they wanted to take out my gallbladder. I was like, Fuck that.
