I don't think it will make a difference to me one way or another. I only ever watch it when one of you post something.

I like both equally. But having one less app/website to check for new content would be okay with me.

I don’t use it but I doubt it. Last I heard Trump had changed his mind about it going away and there was some chance Musk might buy it (at least enough to try to quell those that are concerned about the CCP’s access to the data).

I think it’s b.s. but if Trump and Musk team up on keeping it in some form? I doubt it’s going away.

The US gov't has authorized the transfer of all manner of sensitive technology to China over the years, so why all the hoo-ha over Tik Tok?

Being stupid sometimes doesn’t mean u have to be stupid all the time. Why NOT have hoo-ha over Tik Tok?

I don’t have a strong opinion either way but saying we’ve allowed things in the past isn’t a good argument for continuing the practice.

The only danger I can think of is that they'll realize how hopelessly dumb we are, but I'm pretty sure that ship sailed a long time ago. Am I missing something?

Buying into government fearmongering is a pretty good example of ignorance and passivity, and the sanctity of those are precisely what the government is claiming to be a matter of national security. "How dare a platform allow people to feely exchange thoughts and ideas that threaten our ability to control the narratives that many falsely believe to be truth."

The people we should be concerned about are those who endeavor to control what people think and believe.

What do people think TikTok is doing? I’ve never taken the time to find out because it didn’t pertain to me, but I’m now curious about why some wanted it banned in the US.
