I can count on one hand the number of times I've run out of gas. Can you?

I ran out of gas, made the green light and coasted to a stop next to the pump, on the wrong fucking side.

The pumps were low on fuel up here and I had let my car run pretty low, I biked to work to conserve fuel until the tanks were filled.

Not since I was a teen/ early 20s. I am bad about letting it go to near empty though, every time my husband uses my car it annoys him because it's on empty.

I just filled up $8 a gallon.

I don’t think I’ve ever run out of gas (but I’ve also never lived any great distance from a gas station or I probably would have).
A few years ago I drove off with the pump still in my car. Automatic $271 (they even have signs to that effect on the pumps). Beyond one major collision where I miraculously survived largely unscathed, I had a car that lost its brakes on the freeway and the alternator on another car died—also on the freeway. Neither of those were pleasant experiences. My current car tells me exactly how many miles I have left when it hits low. I’d have to be pretty stupid to run out of gas in that thing. They had signs at the gas pumps in Colorado about driving off with the gas pumps stil in the car. I took a picture of it because I couldn't imagine how so many people could do it that it would require them to put up signs. We don't do that here in Florida, we just smoke cigarettes and weed by the pumps.

![]() I’ve often wondered if they exaggerate about the combustibility around gas pumps. Thanks for clearing that up. I never noticed the stupid signs until I did it (some chemicals were probably involved there). Nowwww I notice. Actually $271 seemed pretty cheap for such stupidity. But then I don’t recall any damage to the pump (it’s not like gas was spewing everywhere) so I probably got ripped off. Commando Cunt Queen

Once, because my dad bought me a car that the gas gage was fucked up on, gas gage said it was half full, when it was actually empty. My dad never spent 200 bucks on a car for me in my late teens and early 20s, but he always made sure that I had something to drive. He said paying 200 every few months was cheaper than a car payment
