There was a song from the 60’s or 70’s that, IIRC, contained the phrase “water color” or colors. I remember the singer was male and it was kind of a blues (very mellow rock) hit but I can’t find it. It’s not the more recent song “Colors”..
It’s making me crazy looking for it.
So far I found Janis Ian (LOL I originally had typed Joplin)

I know you said it was a guy, I'm just ruling out these songs. And you said it was in the song, not the title.
Bobby Goldsboro? Is this even bluesy?

You’re so kind! I hadn’t seen this.
I kinda like the first one but I’m not hearing it. I’m beginning to think my memory is possibly a mash up of a couple of songs or something. It’s a head scratcher.
I recently heard a cheesy old song on the radio and I was like “son of a bitch—that was our first song at our wedding (30 years ago)”. I sent it to my husband and he kinda thinks I’m wrong but can’t offer me any options.
Pretty pathetic that we don’t know for sure. I think I’m right but wish I weren’t. The song is cringey (less so 30 years ago). I’ll try to find it and post it up later (thanks Mirah).

Dunno if the link will work. Maybe my husband’s right (I hope he is). This song was already 12 years old when we got married but for some stupid reason, I think it was our choice. Embarrassing!

Now this was a good duet.
Did anyone else watch “The Greatest Day in Music” or whatever that documentary was called? It was really good.

I might have. I vaguely remember something like that.
Tonight I heard a Dick Van Dyke song from Mary Poppins
"Winds in the east"....and I couildn't think of what it reminded me of
I thought maybe it was from "Memoirs of a Geisha" the scene where the war planes are coming in and then when the war ends this song plays. But this wasn't it either.
And then I realized it was this.
Such a beautiful and touching video. It was at 1:32 when the war announcement happens and then 2:31 another song begins.
If you watch the video with subtitles you can see the translation.
