Hell, we had an actual 'enemy' training camp within a few miles of where we lived in Oregon (just outside of Klamath Falls). Good place for it.... remote NW wilderness at 5000'. There was some kind of writeup when the place was busted. That was definitely a WTF moment.

Well I smoke outside so the smoke doesn't linger on me too much. I'm also in a healthy relationship with a husband my own age so I don't have to worry about smelling good for the boys anyway.

I do think it's odd that there is not more mainstream coverage of this mutation, especially since it seems to be in the US now, but hopefully it's something that is contained and will not be an issue for the majority of the population.

I just searched BBC News, which I consider to be a reputable news source and there isn't a single mention of it. Seems kind of weird.
WHO (World Health Organization) doesn't have any info at all on it, nor does the CDC website.
