I don't see how this will do a damn thing for the publishing industry. We've already got several e-readers out there, Kindle being one of them which can also be read on an iphone that allows you to subscribe to newspapers, magazines and blogs. As far as this goes for movie/TV viewing, the size is wrong and it ends up using less area of the monitor for widescreen AND they're too small to hold more than a few movies at a time, if that. It's a great idea for a portable laptop though... however I wonder how fragile they are.

I think its format is more user friendly for tv and books. For example, you can rotate the thing to any side you want and it will adjust to display stuff correctly. It also only has one button from what I understand.

My Kindle and iphone can do the same thing. And I have a 64GB ipod touch that I can watch an entire TV series on if I want.

I like gadgets as much as the next person, but this doesn't seem like what I'm looking for. Maybe third gen will have the bugs worked out.

Plus, I believe there are other features that make the IPAD more customized for tv, books, etc. I have to learn more to comment more, though.
