Hey - I did not mean anything harmful by this statement. I was actually in a discussion @ TAZ about forum owners & what member requests we are required to comply with. It just seems to me that a forum with no rules could have the potential for more trouble. That's all.

Again, it wasn't meant like that.

The issue would be which member requests forum owners are required to honor and which ones they can ignore.

Sometimes in online groups people have arguments and hurt feelings leads to members making demands on forum owners. Since this site is totally about arguing or mocking - it would seem to lend itself to more of that type of issue.

First of all you might want to check post #3 where I explained everyone's PM's were deleted before the switch to new ownership. Three pages of you whining it only happened to you is bullshit if you bothered to read.

Screw what the admin zone says about what admins of forums are "required" to comply with! As far as I know there are no set of standards anyone owning a forum has to abide by for running/owning one. If an admin wants to be a complete dick and fuck with all the members, they can certainly do so. Rules are set by the admin. Normally an admin sets rules for everyone that he/she expects to abide by themselves.

If you claim to be familiar with the use of Mybb, post #3 again would be of interest to you because moderators CANNOT fuck with the back end of things. Before Duchess took ownership of this board Frank and JackBoots were the only mod/admin here. Jackboots is only moderator on ONE of the forums. Whine about Wowbb, UltraBB and WowClassic all you want too - moderators DO NOT have the ability to do jack shit there except in regard to posts - they had no access to the admin panel or users area. Those three softwares did not have any sort of moderator panel either. A couple of modifications had been made for the softwares to have a "mod panel" but they too were just as useless and had no business being called a "moderator panel".

Anyone can do just a little digging and see that the software for forums does allow for dastardly behavior - if even in the most rudimentary way...or it is exploitable for the purpose of doing dirty deeds.

Also, the law re/ online content is very much up in the air so a good registration agreement and an understanding of what privacy laws do exist are important to anyone who owns a forum.

You like to whine a lot... so go for it, but I am very much audi.
