Just harvested two cups of basil and transplanted three small rosemary.
Pesto tonight! We're in a cold snap. Daytime high around 72. Lows near 50. Time to break out the Sorels and the Pendletons. Broccoli and Brussel Sprouts in the ground this weekend. Leafy greens, too!

I still have my broccoli in the ground and get enough to compliment a big salad on the weekends. I will be gone for another 3 days to harvest some red headed tenderloin. Errol N.H. is a very small place in relation to the big sky though. If anyone gets bored they should check out the "Bayeux Tapestry" That is an accomplishment brothers & sisters!

That did not sound right. Yes I can shit and no I have no internet, unless Pete has a crackberry but my guess is he only has a crack, and if he does I may just ask to borrow it then fling it in the woods. In all truth I would rather be fishing, less work.

hahahaha i love my critters~~
this morning i put out the last of the pumpkins from the garden for the squirrels. smashed it in half. so nutkin and his buddies came running and were eating it, when all the big-ass wild turkeys showed up and chased them up a tree. it is hilarious to watch them. those squirrels are scared witless of the turkeys! what can i say, i am easily entertained. heh they all wait for me every morning, right at the kitchen door.

my first snow of the season today~~
poor squirrels and little birds are afraid of the turkeys and can't get to food, so i am putting some where turkeys can't get it, up on porch.

ok it's snowing like a bitch today, but i'm out of birdfood and they are hungry from all the below zero weather. the big-ass turkeys are tearing up the garden, and there's nothing there. the squirrel was slamming the kitchen window with the birdfeeder until i thought it would break the glass. so i go risk my life and drive to the birdfood store in a snowstorm.
when i get home i go over to a tree to fill a suet cage with some yummy peanut butter suet, hoping to get some pretty new bird types. i slip on the ice and fall on my ass and now my back hurts like a mofo. agghhhh! i put the suet cage in the kitchen window. if i see that fat tree rat open that cage, he is going to be squirrel stew! i secured it closed with a twist tie, but he's a clever little demon from hell!

i do not believe it, my sage and parsley are alive! the snow has melted and there they are, green and a bit raggedy. i'm impressed. they are not perennials.
a couple birdies too. |
