~~trying to reason with hurricane season~~
#61
Didn't we just rebuild Mississippi? This time let's put the houses on stilts like they do Texas and Louisiana.

I hope we get some rain out of this. We are officially in a drought down here. Hottest summer on record in Georgia.

Hurricane Lee has spawned tornadoes in here. Two "spotted" so far, whatever that means.

Atlanta (CNN) -- At least one suspected tornado struck the northern suburbs of Atlanta as the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee passed over the area Monday afternoon, inflicting an undetermined amount of damage, authorities reported.

The National Weather Service issued a series of tornado warnings for the area starting around 2:30 p.m. Tornado sightings were reported near the town of Powder Springs, about 20 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta, and in Woodstock, about 30 miles north of the city center.

They reported one on the ground outside of a little shithole town called Villa Rica that is supposed to be moving this way, too.

Watch out Nina, I know you live around here.

I can't decide if I should hide. If a tornado hits your house, you are kinda fucked...

When the hurricane went by last weekend we were having tornado warnings every three minutes. It totally sucked & I know perfectly well the fear they instill.

I just don't want them to find me dead and recover a huge black dildo out in the yard. haha

(NO. Was thinking about my underwear scattered all about, though.)

If it hits my neighborhood, there will be pictures of Dale Sr. and Jesus scattered all about, empty liquor bottles from the old hag across the street, dead chickens (DON'T ask, not mine), and my panties. Everyone will wonder if they fit. Yes, they do, mutherfuckers. Without leaving angry red marks.

When you are under a tornado warning, every truck sounds like a train and you really wish the neighbors would bring their dogs in the house. I don't want to hear your dog barking and I don't want to see your dog come crashing through my bay windows.

Rotation in Canton, GA now. That's a little north of me. I think we're good now.

I saw all the damage from the last tornadoes yesterday when I was driving. There were acres of snapped trees that still haven't been removed (the last tornado crossed the interstate). Glad I went up that way yesterday, wouldn't want to be driving in this super heavy rain.

We have been in a drought here. When the root systems dry out and then get huge amounts of rain in short periods of time, trees come down. Most of the damage now is downed trees.

FOX
BASTROP, Texas – A wildfire burning southeast of Austin, Texas, destroyed about 300 homes, forced the evacuation of many others and was advancing unchecked on Monday through parched ranchland along a 16-mile front, authorities said.

The fire had blackened more than 17,500 acres since it started on Sunday and was the largest of the dozens burning in the drought-stricken state. It was headed away from the state capital, some 30 miles to the northwest, and consuming the water-starved woods and brush with such ferocity that it was deemed unsafe to fight from the ground, Texas Forest Service spokeswoman Jan Amen said.

"It's a monster and it's zero percent contained," Amen said.

Instead, the state deployed its firefighting air fleet, including National Guard helicopters and four heavy tanker planes. It also summoned a tanker from South Dakota.

Emergency shelters were set up for those forced to evacuate their homes. About 30 people spent the night at a Bastrop church, waiting to learn if they had lost everything.

I thought about you when I saw that story. I wish they would have had some of this rain, too.

Do they let the fires burn in Texas? In California they would let some of the wildfires burn to clear underbrush and allow for secondary succession.

^^ hah Leave it to you, Cracker, to think about your panties being scattered throughout GA.
(hope the tornado doesn't steal your panties)

We are getting A lot of rain here in TN from Tropical Storm Lee. We needed it though.

JACKSON, Miss. – The slow-moving remnants of Tropical Storm Lee dumped a torrent of rain across the South on Monday and whipped up twisters that damaged dozens of Georgia homes as the storm system pushed farther inland. One death was reported, and at least one person was injured.

In Mississippi, a man was swept away by floodwaters after trying to cross a swollen creek, the first death caused by flooding or winds from Lee. The system was sweeping through Alabama and pushing into Georgia, where the suspected tornadoes sent trees falling into homes and injured at least one person.
