~~trying to reason with hurricane season~~

It’s not supposed to hit until Wednesday right? Goooo! I do see the lack of gas and help evacuating as a failure on somebody’s part (local, state or federal). They should be managing the roads and have tanker trucks there with gas now fueling people up.

Sucks.

Thanks. I'm on the East Coast right where it looks like it might exit. If it doesn't slow down I might have to leave too. I meant to quote RC.

Gotcha. We’re trying to head that way in February (my mom wants to meet up with her brother that winters down there somewhere). Can’t imagine the rainfall. It’s a catastrophe when we get 12 inches or so in a day or two. Probably want to wait until the end of the weed anyway to give up the alcohol, lol.

Have we heard from Cars since the last hurricane?

Hope he's all right.

I don't think Cars is in the area that was affected. He's neighbors with Trump.

I posted on 10/4/2024 in Random Thoughts.

Donny is watching over and taking care of our area. Hope he does again this time.

Having other difficulties, so not posting much.

One of my brother's girlfriend is a nurse and her employer has paid for them to move inland, they live on the gulf side and stayed at home for the last hurricane. Everyone else is staying at home.  Smiley_emoticons_slash

I just saw video of 30 miles of gridlock. I'm so sorry for all of you down there. This is awful.

Some areas of Disney are closed, but the parks remain open.

Going to Disney World during a hurricane…you’d have to add some psychedelics on top of that experience (the icing on the cake).

I have sympathy for people who literally CAN’T evacuate in a mandatory evacuation altho seems like a government job to get everyone out who wants out) but I don’t really know why they’re called “mandatory” if they’re not. And less sympathy for those that just choose to ride it out. Unless like BM u have a zoo on ur property and there’s no assistance offered for animals. Is there? I’d probably stay back and die if I had a bunch critters and no way to protect them.

It's showing that it's going to exit straight through here as a strong 2. If that's the case then my power is 100 percent getting knocked out. If you don't hear from me it's not because I'm at the Magic Kingdom. Unless I get blown over there. I have two large dogs, two cats, a rabbit and a leopard gecko. If it looks really bad I'm going to have to pack them all up with me and leave by tomorrow morning.

I and a bunch of neighbors didn't leave during a mandatory fire evacuation and worked for 12 hellish hours to save our homes.

Tampa's mayor told people if they didn't leave they were going to die.

These weather people are talking about how there was a cat 4 hurricane and people left but the water wasn't that much, but then the next cat 4 hurricane was really awful.
It is an interesting listen.

Good luck sal, hope you don't get stuck in massive gridlock. Many folks are waiting for the last minute also, you may want to consider going now. When there's just gridlock.

We won't be (can't) leaving our abode under any circumstances.

I meant just going over to the mainland to my husband's office. I'm not getting gridlocked on the highway, I think I'd rather die lol. I'm a block away from the ocean and we usually get evacuated to the mainland even though they always get hit worse and flood.
