sickening. they were beaten to death with a pipe and slashed with a scythe. by their own son and his old bag of a 46 year-old "girlfriend".

DALLAS, Ore. -- Two people are in custody after a husband and wife were found dead in their home in what appears to have been a double homicide, according to investigators.

The couple's bodies were discovered Tuesday morning on their farm they called Abundant Life Farm. Officers were responding to a report of an unconscious person at their home about three miles south of Dallas.

The victims have been identified as 61-year-old David Scott Jondle and 58-year-old Marilyn Ruth Jondle. Police say the couple's youngest son, 20-year-old Andrew Jondle of Salem, beat them to death.

The alleged killer's father was found in a garage, and his mother in the house.

The couple's son and his girlfriend, 46-year-old Cindy Lou Beck of Salem, were later located in Salem. Both were taken into custody after being questioning by authorities in Polk County.

Andrew Jondle faces aggravated murder charges. His bail has not yet been set.

Beck faces a charge of hindering prosecution, with additional charges pending. Her bail was set at $5,000.

Investigators said they believe the killings are tied to a conflict between father and son.

"We got information from family and friends that there had been some relations strained between the father and the son," said Polk County Sheriff Bob Wolfe. "That led us to the son, who was located at his apartment in south Salem."

David Powell, Andrew Jondle's neighbor, said he saw Andrew Jondle and Beck arrive home at 2 a.m. Tuesday.

"He sat right here (pointing to a chair outside an apartment unit), and he basically curled up a little bit and had a hoodie on and was shaking really bad," Powell said.

The Polk County sheriff said investigators decided during the questioning process to charge Beck with hindering prosecution. Both are expected to make their first court appearances on Wednesday.

David Jondle left behind work as a software engineer in California about 10 years ago, giving up office work so he and his wife could live a simpler life running their farm. They had customers in Salem, Beaverton and Portland.

SALEM, Ore., Sept. 1 (UPI) -- An Oregon man was in jail Wednesday on charges he killed his parents on their farm outside Salem, the Polk County sheriff announced.

Andrew Jondle, 20, was charged with murder in the deaths of David and Marilyn Jondle, two former California residents who moved to the scenic Dallas area in 2000 to take up sustainable farming.

Jondle's 46-year-old girlfriend, Cindy Lou Beck, was also in custody for allegedly hindering a prosecution and conspiracy to commit murder.

The (Portland) Oregonian said the pair was picked up Tuesday at their Salem apartment after the bodies were discovered at the Abundant Life Farm by a delivery man, Sheriff Bob Wolfe said.

Neighbors of the accused couple told the Salem Statesman Journal the pair had been causing problems in recent months, including belligerent behavior toward residents and their children. They said police had been called three or four times in August.

Theirs was a sustainable, old-fashioned place where they produced poultry, eggs, pork, beef and lamb without chemicals.

The son accused of killing his parents on their Salem farm allegedly stole money, jewelry and credit cards before his girlfriend helped him dispose of his bloody clothes hours after the slaying, according to details released Wednesday by the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

no bond for him, 1 million on her.

Good parents usually have a sixth sense for who's a good match for their kids and who isn't. David and Marilyn Jondle were by all accounts great parents; he a reformed cubicle warrior and she a stay-at-home mom who both worked 200 acres of farm land in Dallas, Oregon. Neither approved of their son Andrew's new girlfriend. Now, after their gruesome deaths, it looks like the Jondles may have been right to be suspicious.

The woman the Jondles were wary of was one Cindy Lou Beck. At 46, Beck was more than twice as old as 20-year-old Andrew. She was also a convicted thief who'd lost both her kids to state custody. and she probably didn't resemble the woman they imagined their baby boy ending up with.

Neighbors say Andrew and his parents were a loving family until Beck came along. Unsatisfied with their life in Silicon Valley, the couple moved to Oregon in 2000 to start Abundant Life Farm, where they raised free-range livestock.

Andrew was described as a friendly, if quiet, boy. The youngest of three sons, he was the last one at home to help his folks around the farm.

Once Beck entered the picture, Andrew and his parents fought constantly about the relationship. Two months ago, he moved out of their place and in to hers. David and Marilyn responded by cutting him off financially and taking back his car.

Despite what looks like a poor maternal track record, Beck was apparently desperate to get her kids back. She needed cash in order to get square with her landlord. And according to investigators, she intended to accomplish her goal by convincing young Andrew to rob his folks.

Andrew allegedly went to his parents' farm late Monday night with intentions to boost some valuables. But he wasn't exactly a pro.

Andrew managed to grab some credit cards and jewelry. But his dad thought something was up.

David confronted his son outside near an open barn door. An argument ensued and police say Andrew then stabbed his dad multiple times with a scythe, killing him. He then went inside and beat his mother to death with a metal pipe.
